Ontario PC activist faces censorship in fight for accountable leadership

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Host | The Gunn Show

Being against more taxes and for accountability in leadership seem like mainstream conservative values – something everyone, across the conservative spectrum can get behind.

Or, so one would think.

Joining me tonight from Ontario is conservative grassroots activist Jim Karahalios.

Jim is the founder of two conservative activist organizations, Axe the Tax and Take Back Our PC Party. He says he has been stripped of his PC party membership and dragged through the courts because he wants the Ontario PCs to follow their own constitution and listen to their grassroots members who oppose a carbon tax.

Now Karahalios says his organizations have been blocked from having a booth at this year's Manning Centre Conference.

On tonight's show, you'll see the unbelievable excuse the Manning Centre gave Karahalios in an email, explaining their reasoning for blocking him.

Karahalios is telling his side of the story, recounting his battle against political censorship and explaining how conservatives are failing to hold their own leaders accountable for selling out conservative values in pursuit of power.

Preston Manning’s motto – if you can’t beat them, join them. He’s a real joke now, and so is his Manning center of conservative censorship!

Well now… Let’s clarify this -“climate change” thing.. Which is indeed a phenomenon on God’s Green Earth and has been so since the first oceans formed and eventually the dinosaurs roamed and then we had several ice age epochs… The climate IS ALWAYS changing, and will continue to do so, due to the cycles of the Sun… The BIG, BIG LIE lies in trying to attribute it to “human activity” except of course on a localized basis… The air in Bejing stinks, also in Delhi, Los Angeles and New York… It’s called “air pollution”… Toronto also has its “bad air days” some summer days… But to project that onto the whole globe is a “deliberate and calculated sham”… For whatever self-serving purposes…

With respect to being blocked from having a booth at the Manning Center Conference:
In this May 27, 2015 program Ezra Levant reports that Preston Manning — who used to bravely and eloquently denounce the Kyoto Protocol — has become a global warming activist.

DES ZACHARIAS commented, “Everybody is sick of the three political parties and looking for options…check out the NCA National Citizens Alliance. They have a lot of common sense ideas….”

Such as their policy on climate change, “The NAPC acknowledges that climate change is a real phenomenon”. No thanks!

Ontario as we knew it no longer exists. The GTA and Ottawa ridings just have too much clout to be overcome by the rest of the Province.
A more accurate name for what was Ontario is Torontario.
The PC party could have at the very least chosen a more charismatic leader . As it stands we have a bland person carrying a bland message lacking virtue and substance.its pathetic.

Andrew the TPP under did not sell us out to China. BIG DIFFERENCE in the details. "

The version of TPP that Trudeau took a swing at passing, was basically unchanged from the one Harper tabled. As I’m sure you recall, there was a lot of outcry before then about “selling us out to China”, which was chalked up to “Harper Derangement Syndrome” at the time. It’s also one reason Trudeau only made a perfunctory try at passing it.

James we also have an 80% higher basic exemption on our taxes, no provincial sales tax and the private companies here maintain the highways better and our private diagnostics are far more efficient and accessible to people who need them. "

You also spend 30% more per capita than Ontario does. The higher basic exemption is offset by the fact that once you start paying taxes in Alberta, the bill climes more steeply because the first bracket’s twice as high. Alberta’s also got the royalty pool, which it as of late had drawn a huge proportion of operating funding from – and subsequently, made up the difference when oil prices collapsed, by borrowing. Ontario’s got to make due with the tax base alone since its own resource royalties are a fraction of Alberta’s and always will be. Ontario’s government is actually among the lowest in per-capita spending, and the lowest in per-capita government revenues – BC is the only other than Ontario province that spends less than 10k/capita/yr.

James Crockett they have not always voted Liberal, and try going out of the cities, the province is not only the damn cities. And yes it is not Alberta , we had blue bins in our smaller cities and towns long before Ontario and we have bottle depots everywhere and we have a way better system of landfills and Eco Stations.

Drew Wakariuk,

Has absolutely nothing to do with the media. Even if media didn’t exist, the people of Ontario would vote liberal, because the people identify as liberal. Ontario isn’t Alberta.

James Crockett it will just show that they are easily fooled you mean. The media is complicit in the lie and they buy it.

I am no fan of Wynne and want her gone, but if she wins again – I think it will reinforce the point that voters view her as lesser evil than voting for a conservative – no matter if he is a “true” conservative or not.

Paul McCullough, I agree. The Trillium Party needs to mobilize, the election is around the corner so to speak!

Mike Harris was the last PC leader to represent the conservative base. He got back to back majorities. Since then we kept hearing that we need watered down Liberal types to lead the party. Ernie Eves offered a watered down version of the Liberal platform & lost power to the Liberals. The Liberals became so unpopular in the first term that all the PC leader had to do was stand, smile & wave & he’d win. Instead, John Tory decided it’s would be a good time to back giving full funding to all faith based schools. The Liberals turned it into a virtual one issue referendum & won again. Then came Tim Hudak who never seemed to find an issue he wasn’t willing to flip-flop on. He held the Liberals to a minority, which seemed to be a major victory for the party because they kept him around to lose the next election. Now there’s Patrick Brown who is a combination of all the worst parts of the other PC loser leaders.

Either the party has been infiltrated by leftists who want to undermine it or the party elite are a bunch of morons who have no business running anything. Maybe both. In any event the Trillium Party is looking better & better.

Patrick “the bland” Brown is just a clone of Allison Redford. Perhaps worse. Under the present circumstances, Wynne will form another government.
Get rid of Brown
Find an actual leader that has some guts and a modicum of charisma.

Not only are the Conservatives not being better than the Lieberals, they are now barely any different from them. Any election in this country now is a joke, a complete farse. Voter fraud and ballot box stuffing! Politics in this country is a scam.

A political party suing a private citizen, let that sink in.

Brown seems to have no merit at all, like something you scrape off the bottom of your shoes.

You are partially right Andrew. Harper and Wall were misguided on a few things as is Kenny, especially in his past portfolios with immigration and TFW programs. but they were/are still the best we got.

Dan I couldn’t agree more. This country has been co opted and we don’t have any tools to deal with level of corruption, They know it and that is why I think they are being so brazen. This has to be foreign influenced and subsidized in some way. Brown isn’t smart enough to be this evil. I believe he is easily influenced, lacks all integrity and is morally bankrupt. P. manning sold out a while ago. This is disgusting and sweeping across provincial line and political parties. I think we are fcked.

It doesn’t matter who you elect now, they’ve all sold out and are on the take. All you’re electing are your jailers. The orders come down from the UN world government and they say jump, and your jailers say how high.

Dan Mancuso: “All Western political ‘leadership’ positions have been usurped by Globalists – Stephen Harper and Brad Wall being the last nationalist holdouts in Canada.”

I have a hard time buying Brad Wall as a “nationalist”, nor Harper. TPP and CETA both origiated from Harper’s government, and Wall’s fully aware that Saskatchewan’s economy is virtually entirely export-dependent and would be crippled by pullbacks in international trade. Through the boom it was one of the heaviest users (and abusers) of the TFW program because labour shortages were driving up labour costs, is currently only growing because of immigration, and has several nominee programs to recruit more. Oh, and go read the CBC articles about the Brighenview schemes, which are nothing more than backdoor immigration scams, fully endorsed by the Sask Party.

I’ve been saying this for a while now…all political, academic and media ‘leaders’ are run by Globalists today.
All Western political ‘leadership’ positions have been usurped by Globalists – Stephen Harper and Brad Wall being the last nationalist holdouts in Canada.
The FBI’s COINTELPRO turned out to be a very successful model – so it’s likely being deployed in Canada, especially in the conservative organizations!
This would easily ‘explain’ the Patrick Browns, Preston Mannings, Andrew Scheers, and basically the rest of any conservative ‘organizations’ today.
Yes, a very successful model indeed!
There’s no stopping this global juggernaut from continuing to roll over us, unopposed.

Peter Netterville,

Even if you had the perfect conservative candidate in your mind running, do you actually think the people of Ontario of all provinces, would vote for someone far right? Ontario is NOT Alberta
