I love t-shirts. I love right wing t-shirts. I wear them for a myriad of reasons.
They’re comfortable, practical and, perhaps most importantly, they irritate liberals.
This week, during my travels on the internet, I found the story of a young man in Oregon who shares my passion.
Alan Holmes is an 8th grader at Dexter McCartey Middle School and he wore a t-shirt with a gun on it to school.
Now, it wasn’t an NRA shirt (not that there’s anything wrong with that).
It wasn’t a shirt with a gangster rapper brandishing a handgun, either.
Brace yourselves, people: It was a shirt that honours fallen Marines.
Alan was suspended for this.
The school administration says they have rules to follow. They don’t allow shirts that promote tobacco, drugs, alcohol or violence.
Wait. Violence?
Honoring the men and women paid for our freedom with their lives isn’t “violence." It’s gratitude.
And at Dexter McCartey Middle School, they suspend you for gratitude.

The Harper government paid agent orange compensation without going to court “ex gratia”…the Liberals wanted to make it a feeding frenzy for a law firm owned by the spouse of a Liberal senator.
Favouritism and cronyism in procurement under thhe Liberals was atrocious…particularly in information technology.
The new Veteran’s Charter was cobbled together by Liberal mandarins….the office closures were scheduled by VAC corporate planning under the Liberals back in the 1990’s as an inevitability in the decrease of client numbers through age attrition…..about 75% of VACs clients are widows in their 80’s and 90’s who live in seniors homes.
And in terms of what Harper has done to provide the troops with proper kit as compared to any Liberal regime ….well there is no comparison.
What are you talking about Mr Kelly?
I served for 8 1/2 years, and I can tell you when Rick Hillier became CDS, things started to improve vastly for us. The military itself recently took a heavy cut again due to Afghanistan ending, but VAC has been steadily improving. I am currently on their Voc-rehab program and am witnessing these improvements firsthand as they come.
I think Pink Floyd summed the whole pathological pedagogue syndrome up nicely in the Wall recording
“When we grew up and went to school
There were certain teachers who would
Hurt the children in any way they could
By pouring their derision
Upon anything we did
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids
But in the town, it was well known
When they got home at night, their fat and
Psychopathic wives would thrash them
Within inches of their lives.
We don’t need no education
We dont need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it’s just another brick in the wall.
All in all you’re just another brick in the wall.
At least the phrase “celebration of male aggression” wasn’t used by the school…..but you can bet they thought it.
The statement that we owe or freedom of speech to veterans is purely rhetorical…..there are no enemies of our freedom of speech outside our own borders.
Maybe Jason and Matt could do a spoof: which party leader would you like least to take off their t-shirt in a polling place?
