A lot of Canadian Pokemon trainers aren't waiting for the hit augmented reality game Pokemon GO to be officially released to start their journey to catch em all because the game can still be downloaded through other methods.
On Monday afternoon, around 20 gamers armed with cellphones met at Confederation Park near the fountain to catch Pokemon with the help of lures.
There were so many in attendance, benches were being installed as people played.
The area is especially good for those playing because of the three 'Pokestops' in the area, which refresh every few minutes to provide gamers with items that would otherwise need to be purchased using real money. Items such as Pokeballs which are needed to catch Pokemon are given out at these Pokestops.
The game has taken the world by storm, with countless mainstream news outlets covering its surging popularity.
Just the fact that so many people are playing in a country where the game hasn't even been released is something special. And hey, at least the game is getting people who would otherwise be inside on a summer day out and about.
