Barely a week after being relocated to a Brampton, Ontario halfway house, child-rapist Matthew, a.k.a. Madilyn Harks, apparently violated the terms of his/her parole conditions resulting in removal from the residence.
Incidentally, Harks was placed in a women’s halfway house that also happened to be located near schools, daycare facilities and community centres.
But Harks wasn’t the only monster in this sordid saga. The other villain is Correctional Services Canada for violating the public trust by allowing a pedophile to potentially re-victimize children in the first place.
You may recall we paid a visit to Brampton last week and found many justifiably outraged citizens who were left to deal with this appalling miscarriage of justice.
Ah, but what do they know, right? They’re just a bunch of law-abiding taxpayers who want to live in a safe community. Correctional Services Canada knows best, even though this bumbling bureaucracy conceded that Matthew/Madilyn Harks was at an “elevated” risk to reoffend.
Joe Warmington of the Toronto Sun reports Harks was caught violating the terms of his parole in a way that fortunately, didn’t entail any victims, but in the aftermath of this fiasco, two gargantuan questions must be answered:
1. How did such a monster qualify for release in the first place?
2. And, at the risk of getting a transphobia lecture, do they really expect us to believe no one at Correctional Services Canada considered that Harks might just be pretending to be female?
