Pastor David Lynn: Exercise your right to free speech before it's too late

David MenziesMission Specialist

Pastor David Lynn, who we’ve told you about before, was arrested yesterday by Toronto Police. His crime? Preaching the Christian gospel in Toronto’s gay village

Lynn has a clean record with no prior arrests, and The Rebel was in court today to hear more about his charge of committing a public disturbance.

Among the terms listed for his bail release are that he may not use a microphone and speaker in certain areas, he is not to be in possession of a legal gun even with a license, and that he must not attend any LGBTQ events including the Toronto Pride Parade to be held on June 30.

As for that Muslim gentleman at the Al Quds rally on Saturday who advocated killing gays so that Canada will be compliant with Sharia law?

Nothing to see here, folks... move along, move along…

We’re back in the days of Paul and Silas. But “Be strong and of good courage…” (Deut. 31:6); the Lord sees what is done to you.

“Third…no matter how much you may think that the gay ghetto in Toronto deserves Sodom and Gommorah hail of fire and brimstone…there just ain’t a suitable volcano within practical range…so that is…like it or not…their NO-GO zone….there are some GREAT restaurants there…but other than that EVERYBODY knows it’s their turf.” – Glenn Craig
-—————————————————————————————————————————-

Fair enough Glenn, it is the part of town where the queer community has congregated, built their clubs, and restaurants, but it should in no way be a no go zone for others to be thrown out of. If they can get away with indoctrinating our kids in schools and libraries, a Christian should be able to go into their neighbourhood to spread the word of Christ, which is love and tolerance. Can I call a cop to remove a tranny from my library or arrest the ‘teacher’ discussing anal discharge after same sex penetration , to my kid at the public school I pay school tax for? Besides, if Muslims can have their call to prayer at city hall in T.O. and a Christian is arrested, taken away in handcuffs, and kept over night for speaking of Christ in the ‘wrong’ neighbourhood, there is something ass backwards in this country.

A lovely poem, and damn good advice. I had forgotten about that Kipling poem, thanks Al Peterson for reminding me.

Time for The Rebel to crowd source his legal fund to sue the cops on this one.

Kind of reminds me of Kipling:
“If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,”

And now the rest that these lefty trigger babies need to heed:

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream – and not make dreams your master;
If you can think – and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;

IF YOU CAN BEAR TO HEAR THE TRUTH YOU’VE SPOKEN
TWISTED BY KNAVES TO MAKE A TRAP FOR FOOLS,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with wornout tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings – nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;

If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And – which is more – YOU’LL BE A MAN MY SON!

I know. I know. Very toxic, so don’t bother telling me.

Glenn, I’m surprised that you are in favour of no go zones in Canada. Why are these leftists so overly sensitive? Why do we give support to leftists by agreeing that their “trigger happy” responses are valid and that they are mere children who can’t control their tantrums? They caused the disturbance, not Lynn.

As I have said since our dear Trudeau started putting pressure on Facebook, he is working toward a dictatorship of some sort. Maybe a socialist society with Baby Doc Trudeau at the helm.

Christians and Jews are treated badly, especially considering how LGBTQ and a certain faith whose name can not be mention in criticism are treated.

I really like this Pastor. He makes more sense than most.

You know what…I’m going to say that the Toronto Police made the right call in these circumstances…

First….to those who would say that he speaks for Jesus…is he a duely ordained clergyman of one of the ORTHODOX churches that attended the Ecumenical Council of Nicea (which decided on the CANON of the BIBLE he claims to preach) apparently not…ALL OF THEM decided it was OK to be gay and be ordained. (And in the last ten years I have not met one…nope…nary a one…clergyman of that crowd who WAS NOT gay.

Second….I am indeed a free speech absolutist…however I do recognize that there does come a threshold where free speech uttered in certain venues becomes “fighting words”..
For example …if a Lutheran cleric…were to enter a Catholic neighbourhood in Belfast or Derry Ireland during the ….oh boy…“marching season” and preach sermons on the theme of “FUCK THE POPE”…even though he may be on solid scriptural and historic ground….the home turf of the IRA ain’t no ground to do that….and the local constbulary ARE NOT going to provide security when and if he does.

Third…no matter how much you may think that the gay ghetto in Toronto deserves Sodom and Gommorah hail of fire and brimstone…there just ain’t a suitable volcano within practical range…so that is…like it or not…their NO-GO zone….there are some GREAT restaurants there…but other than that EVERYBODY knows it’s their turf.

Complete supposition Andrew. There are multiple witnesses on both sides. Why do you hate Christians so much? I though you were inclusive. You want to shut down freedom of religion. the religion of this country. Maybe you are a little racist too, eh?

Keep spreading the Good News Pastor Lynn. You’ll receive your crown of eternal life very soon.

Persevere Pastor Lynn. Continue going out to the people and preach the Good News. Everyone gets to speak!

ANDREW STEPHENSON – That’s fair enough. Yes, the Christian ministry does have a vested interest in this and, yes, they could have edited out those parts.

But I note that I did not see those parts in the City News story either. I have also not seen raw footage by anyone showing the alleged offences, the alleged screams of hateful messages by the street preacher.

If anyone has such evidence, such footage, I would certainly like to see it. If the Christian street preacher was saying or yelling hateful things and did disturb the peace, I will gladly stand alongside those in the LGBTQ community who are condemning his behaviour.

In the absence of such evidence, though, logic dictates I have to seriously question whether the alleged offenses even occurred.

JAMES RISDON commented 15 hours ago
I’ve looked at the extended footage the Christian ministry put up on YouTube and I didn’t see any messages that could be in any way construed as “anti-LGBTQ” as the City News story reported. "

Yeah, the “Christian Ministry” wouldn’t have a vested interest such that they would edit those parts out, would they?

ALBERTA MAGA – No matter how frustrated anyone is with the current political system or the police and courts, it is objectively wrong to condone violence against the men and women in blue who serve the City of Toronto or to welcome destruction of property.

Reverend Lynn….very well spoken with a gentle heart, thank you for your insight into what exists and is demonstrated daily at everyday people’s level. All those things that current government officials turn a blind eye to or condone must have the light shed upon it. Christians are being persecuted world wide and what took place in your circumstance is indicative that Canadian Christians are also being targeted. You will not be standing alone in your fight against the dictatorial attitudes of government and subsequently police services…..reach out to Canadians and we will stand with, for, beside and behind you.

Pastor David Lynn, take heart… “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; 13 but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing; so that also at the revelation of His glory, you may rejoice with exultation. 14 If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. 15 By no means let any of you suffer as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a troublesome meddler; 16 but if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not feel ashamed, but in that name let him glorify God. 17 For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 And if it is with difficulty that the righteous is saved, what will become of the godless man and the sinner? 19 Therefore, let those also who suffer according to the will of God entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right.”

Funny how the left yaps about the charter then remains smugly silent when it is continually violated. And they called Harper a dictator, WHAT A BUNCH OF SCUM!

Which law did he break? Oh protesting is now a public disturbance-well for certain people i guess. Toronto deserves what is happening.

Its not right. We cannot stand for this. This man does not deserve this.
Pastor David Lynn, vote for Max Bernier.

So now we have no go zones in the LGBTQ communities as well? Everyone of Justin’s special interest groups are making demands they have no right to be making.
The law is an ass in Toronto.

Justin Trudeau IS a dictator. We have to get him out and stop this persecution of those not on his list of favorites. Unbelievable that they kept Pastor David Lynn over night. This man needs a good lawyer. He has to fight back.
Great interview. Important issue.

June 30th is Toronto Pride Day, huh. I wonder if any muslims will be there to “diversify” the event? It sure would be a shame to have our PM be the first one to be assassinated by the Muslims he so dearly adores. But, he likes to push his luck it seems.

Remember when Peter turned to leave Rome and avoid persecution, he met Jesus on the road. Peter was shocked to see Jesus walk past him and asked Him: “Domine, quo vadis?” (Lord, where are you going?)
To which Christ responded: “Eo Romam iterum crucifigi.” (I go to Rome to be crucified once again.)

Don’t give up Pastor. It is missionaries like you who have been chosen. God has given you the strength, the ability to communicate and articulate with clarity and the courage to speak on His behalf.
Christians will be persecuted because Christianity is the truth.

Mother Angelica told a wonderful recount of when everything was going so wrong and she was being attacked from all sides and pressured by the potential loss of everything she and her Nuns were trying to achieve.
She went to the chapel and poured it all out to God and asked him ‘why me?’ ‘Why did you choose me to undertake such a monumental task?’ She heard His voice and His answer was “My daughter, Why me?”
She said she never asked Him that question again.
