NEW video series! Patrick Moore, Sensible Environmentalist: The truth about carbon dioxide

Rebel Staff

Greenpeace co-founder Patrick Moore, PhD is now "The Sensible Environmentalist," cutting through the phony science of “global warming” with the facts. In his very first video in this new series, he explains why carbon dioxide is a hero, not a villain.

Moore, who has a PhD in ecology, explains:

Is the Earth warming? Well, yes, there’s been slight warming in the past 300 years since the peak of the Little Ice Age. But guess what? There’s no scientific proof that this is caused by carbon dioxide.  And simply asserting a hypothesis does not prove it to be true.

But that doesn’t stop environmentalists, activists, and the most troubling – politicians – from calling carbon dioxide a toxic pollutant that will destroy life and bring civilization to its knees. It’s so bad that governments say we need to tax it!

So what would happen if eco-activists got their wish and brought an end to all CO2 emissions from fossil fuels?

Well, eventually the earth would begin to die...

WATCH the whole thing, as Moore explains the real science in a down to earth way. You'll want to SHARE this one, too!

Have you noticed how the hand-wringing alarmists love to use the word “unprecedented” – usually in relation to the “hottest month evah”? But have you also noticed how their charts rarely go back more than a hundred years or so? If you concentrate on just the last few decades then you can make any tiny blip on a graph look really scary. Kudos to Patrick Moore for presenting today’s climate on a time-scale that is relevant to our planet!

I watched this and felt so encouraged. Dr. Moore’s name’s familiar to me from when I was a huge Greenpeace fan. I am also anti-nuke and always have been. But I now find that Dr. Moore supports nuclear power, but more significantly, the following URL leads to an article by him is in opposition to what he’s saying in this video I have just watched.

Sorry, it’s too confusing. I well remember the mayor in Pickering when the Darlington Nuclear Plant was built trying to impress the press via shaking my hand after a meeting of the Environmental Committee. I refused his hand shake because not only him, but the Environmental Committee refused to vote against building the nuclear plant. I resigned from the committee and wrote a letter to the editor of the Globe & Mail at the time about why I resigned.

Common sense tells me that climate change tax is nothing but another control tactic to garner more money for the government to spend irresponsibly in all likelihood.

In Ottawa they’re closing 16 schools thanks to Premier Wynne – it’s such a travesty, particularly if you remember Premier Bill Davis, who did so much for education in the province of Ontario. Education is so vital, as vital as it is not to build nuclear plants that aren’t properly monitored. The first P/R person for the Darlington Nuclear Plant was formerly with General Motors………as in, how does that background relate to nuclear waste, et al ? The answer is, it doesn’t. It’s just another manipulation tactic.

Getting back to Dr. Moore, he needs to explain why he’s changed his stance. As a former journalist I don’t understand how you can flip from one scientifically based position to another and maintain your integrity.

Actual size of canada’s oilsands: 900 sq km.
Potential Size of canada’s oilsands: 140,000 sq km.
Size of canada’s boreal forests: over 5,000,000 sq km.

oilsands cover about 0.02% now, and may cover 3% in the future.

Well now, Cynthia Bredfelt, Watson is not saying here that NASA doesn’t do true space exploration. He’s saying that it is possible that they were perhaps diverting funding INTO their programs by suggesting that there may be life on Mars. Watson thinks there is none but I don’t rule it out yet. As for your remark that ‘we never landed on the moon’, I challenge you on that. We in fact did land on the moon six times. I have the very trustworthy witness of one of the astronauts (James Irwin) on that topic. People who believe that the moon landing was a conspiracy also seem to believe in the ridiculous flat earth fallacy. Go and truly educate yourself, Cynthia and stop acting like a stupid skeptic.

The environmentalists are doing the same scare mongering with regards to water. Some cities are taxing homeowners and businesses with a stormwater runoff user fee which uses the impervious square footage of ones home, driveway, garage, deck surface or pool, to impose a monthly fee which is not part of your property taxes. Small houses pay approximately 15 dollars/month. Large businesses with a store and parking lot will pay upwards of 1500 dollars/month depending on size. This fee is levied whether it rains or not. This is in place in Kitchener ON. Check out their website. Other cities ( Guelph ) are considering the same except they will reward people who rip up their deck or driveway thus making their footprint smaller.
Colorado and Maryland have the same program. Colorado goes one further. Rain barrels are illegal and you will be subject to prosecution and fines if caught.
So, if municipalities are imposing this punitive tax theft with no complaints from the taxpayers then why not tax peoples respiratory rate? Wake up folks, they do it because they can.

I have seen this and other raw data which supports the views expressed in this video. Politicians have always sought new ways to control people though taxation and have often used things that improve living conditions to do so (remember the window tax in England, France, Ireland and Scotland during the 18th and 19th centuries and many similar since). Michael Faraday FRS (22 September 1791 – 25 August 1867), the scientist who made the modern electrical system possible, even predicted in the House of Commons (UK) that “one day you will be able to tax it”.
Imagine what could be done with a carbon tax….taxation by body mass for example.

Excellent presentation! One that will get howls of angry self-riotous indignation from activists and those on the left!

Thanks for the exposure. I believe you! Gore de Whore! Never trust a journalist! Look at what happened to Britain. Winston Churchill lost Britain its empire.
commented 2016-09-26 20:29:25 -0400
I think the UN has already admitted that this taxation is simply being used to transfer money from wealthy nations to impoverished ones.

As for you Cynthia Bredfeldt… what can one say to those words of wisdom? born yesterday, were you?

Kudos to Patrick Moore, history is on his side as the facts will eventually be accepted once the informed public realizes the lying and indoctrination by the likes of Al Gore and the Hollywood actors who act like they are smart, informed and caring. The sad part of the story is the politically correct spineless politicians have seized this opportunity to squeeze more money out of working citizens. The problem on Earth is not CARBON DIOXIDE, the problem is global ignorance! Ignorance can be fixed, stupidity is forever.

NASA is a joke. We never landed on the moon. They are NOT to be trusted…EVER! Period…. Full stop… End of story!

Mr. Moore; thank you for your objectivity and courage to speak against the trend. I quit supporting Greenpeace when you left the organization. In your video, you state that the IPCC says the global warming is “highly likely” (not a direct quote but…) to have been caused by humanity and more particularly industrialization. When I first read the report, and although I am not a scientist I did read it; I found their words to be “low confidence” as to that being the cause. Their term was anthroprogenic or some such. Also their findings were a .05 degree increase per decade all of which I found very enlightening and useful in my arguments against climate change. I, too have always believed we were simply receding from the ice age.
However; now when I looked, so that I might add a link here for you, I can no longer find those lines. I am not such a great researcher; I know they are there as I found them the first time but I did not keep the reference. (damn it!) My point being, if you can find it, or if in my continued search I come upon it again it would, of course, be very helpful to have the agencies highest authority backing your claims.
This probably helps very little in it’s present state but I do hope you continue to be heard and more importantly, heeded.
Thank you for your efforts on behalf of truth.

Tell the BIG lie. The expression was coined by Adolf Hitler, when he dictated his 1925 book Mein Kampf, about the use of a lie so “colossal” that no one would believe that someone “could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously.” He actually accused the Jews of using that tactic, and in so doing was guilty of the very thing he accused the Jews of. It worked. Goebbels then accused Churchill of using the big lie tactic, all the while using it himself, which inevitably led to the holocaust. Al Gore, David Suzuki, the UN and the useful idiots like JT, Notley, Wynne, Gregor Robertson, are either knowingly or stupidly promoting the big lie when it comes to anthropogenic climate change. However, I don’t believe it would make any difference to any of them whether they are pushing their deceitful agenda knowingly or naively. They would stick to the story line regardless of whether or not they knew it was false,as long as they thought it would help further their globalist agenda.

I have submitted over 300 complaints to the BBC criticising their coverage of the climate change issue and just recently in response to one complaint which they said could not be taken further I gave them a list of 100 previous complaints which obviously horrified them and caused their complaints manager Keith Jones to get spiteful. He used the BBC editorial standards to presume that my complaints were trivial, misconceived, hypothetical, repetitious and otherwise vexatious when all I did was contradict their rhetoric by using data the same as included in the video which clearly they took exception to.

When I appealed I sent them lots of stuff data and evidence but they responded by saying my appeal had to be 1000 words or less so I hedged my bets and revised my appeal to 1000 words plus all of the graphs included in the video and ask for approval to use more than 1000 words. Because the BBC either could not or did not want to consider the data because clearly it fundamentally contradict their emotive rhetoric they took three months to decide no to allow me to use more than 1000 words and completely ignored my revised appeal. They say that their decision is final and they have put in place a filter which denies me email access to their system and said that the BBC Trust which is supposed to be in place to protect the license fee payers also will refuse to answer any more emails.

In effect they are scared to death that their scientifically illiterate propaganda campaign on behalf of Greenpeace FOE WWF and the Grantham Institute will be found out to be fraudulent and this is their last ditch effort to cover up their deception and fraud. They employed Profs Nurse and Jones to rewrite their editorial standards as a coverall device that could be used to justify any degree of prejudice and bias to legitimise their deceit.

My real objection is that the Tv license I pay to the BBC is not for the purpose of being able to view BBC programs and product it is a license to have a TV in my house which if I do not pay the BBC will take me to court for non payment and I will get a criminal record. In my eyes this is an unfair contract and the BBC is guilty of false representation with an intent to deceive which is a criminal offence in the UK.

If I buy a faulty product from Ford or Apple I have the ultimate sanction I can stop giving them money and buy someone elses product but if I stop paying my TV licence I get a criminal record and the BBC win either way and that just doesn’t seem right, what do you think??

Dr. Moore, I agree with what you say about CO2 – but your time span is quite unrealistic. Geologists & archaeologists world wide are all slowly admitting and concluding that this planet & life on it aren’t much older than 10,000 years. You need to speak to Jonathan Gray, archaeologist – him and other archaeologists & geologists have done much study in this area.

“The real issue is using too much and running out.” Really? Not in my book.
commented 2016-09-20 08:15:10 -0400
We don’t need any of these Jokers. Not Cathy Whynee, Not Justin T, not this guy Patrick.
We already know common sense. that Plants like CO2, but pollutants, that is the “gasoline, and the eans like Xylene etc. etc.” should be kept safe and out of the environment. Its why they put that rubber ring around the gas pump nozzle. Its why they have pollution controls in your car to capture the fumes of the gas and burn them.
The real issue is using too much and running out. The other issue is the waste of taxpayer money on things like solar panels in a country that gets little sun. We would make better use of our money funding a Solar company putting in solar panels in the Southern deserts and selling that hydro than by investing that money here damaging peoples roofs and cluttering up good farm land with junky solar panels.
We also didn’t need all those natural gas hydro generation plants wasting all our natural gas. We should have built a nuclear plant in Darlington and saved that natural gas for homes rather than burning it all off for Hydro. While we can be thankful for the global flood for that natural gas from decaying matter far below it seems again that corruption and stupidity is ruling the planet from this craziness to terrorism. I wish we could just get some normal Gov’t already. Cathy Whynee and Justin T have to Go.

Dr. Moore: I watched & listened to every word you said & believed it. Then, I started to read the posts & came across a post by David Appell who offered a link to a speech you made calling fossil fuels the greatest cause of global warming . I read your comments & frankly I was apalled by the words you spoke then & the words you speak now, so how can I believe & trust anything else you say. So very disappointed, you have no idea. I am hoping that you will have read the comments here & offer us an explanation.

Carbon hysteria for politicians amounts to the successful taxing of the air we breath, which of course is great for them, not so much for us. Please keep this video up for all time so I can refer my ill informed friends to this resource. Patrick Moore and Tim Ball are my all time favorite champions of environmental truth. Thanks always for broadcasting the truth for people with common sense already suspect of these subversions of reality and in addition the news of the day with regard to our diminished voice amongst the hysterical. Sadly, it seems these days common sense has been hi-jacked by hysteria. Rebel forever.

If carbon emissions were truly a global threat the world’s governments would ban it. But they don’t, they tax it. Apparently it’s ok to emit carbon as long as you give them money. When DDT was determined by “settled science” to be truly harmful to the environment and human health it was banned. Not taxed! In any nation a carbon tax or fee is basically a tax grab to enrich the government’s coffers. Global treaties are a wealth redistribution scheme to give wealthy nation’s money to poorer nations.

When my so-called carbon footprint reaches a millionth of that of Trudeau, Suzuki, DiCaprio or that jerk wad Al Gore, then come talk to me about it. Until then I’ll celebrate the hypocrite a-holes by burning a tire on their beloved Earth Day. In fact, if Trudeau and his type were really serious about reducing C02 they would do the planet a favor and sign up for the Liberals assisted suicide program. Good riddance to each of them.

I visited my brother in Nanaimo in July. Whilst at a nearby strip mall I noticed a boulder on display behind a fence. It contained a fossilized tree imbedded in the rock. Turns out that it is a palm tree. On Vancouver island. Hmm. Must have been quite a bit warmer than 2 degrees at some point to grow palm trees, no?

So did humans cause that warming trend? I think not. Did the world come to an end by a desert forming? Apparently not. Was the sea level so high that the island was flooded? Apparently not.

The lefties always accuse the right of dealing with fear. The reality is always exactly the opposite. The lefties are the fear mongers who stoke fear into the uninformed-by-the-CBC Canadian.

Where did the mile of ice over Winnipeg go? Did the mastodons driving SUV’s cause global warming? Again, I think not.
