PC MLA Lukaszuk wants to “bar” Kenney from leadership run? Monte Solberg talks unity prospects in Alberta

Brian LilleyArchive

You’ve heard the speculation that Jason Kenney is considering leaving federal politics to run for the leadership of the Alberta PCs. Part of that speculation includes the possibility that Kenney might be able to eventually unite the right in the province.

I wasn’t sure how I felt about it, but when former Alberta PC Cabinet Minister Thomas Lukaszuk (more “progressive” than “conservative”) said he wanted Kenney “barred” from running for leader, it made me think his leadership run might be a great idea after all.

Monte Solberg is another man who’s very much in touch with Alberta politics, so I sat down with him to get his thoughts on Lukaszuk's comment, and the general state of conservative politics in the province.

Nicely, nicely stated Pat McCaughey!… It is time for a no holds barred flushing of both the Conservative and Wildrose toilets in Alberta…The province, and eventually all of Canada, will be the better for it…

I’m strongly opposed to the PC party in Alberta. However, this does open the door crack to the possibility of re-examination. There are a couple of things that need to happen, the PC party meets the cleanout the riff raft, if it’s claiming to be conservative, it should be conservative. Additionally, the PCs need to eat some humble pie and apologize to Albertans for the mess they helped create, which led to the election of the worst Alberta Government ever, for that matter one of the countries worst ever.

Thanks CANADIAN MONGREL for reminding us of Lukaszuk’s doorstep incident with that senior citizen supporting Wildrose… That alone is enough to tell Albertans all you want to know about his “personality”…

Lukaszuk is a liberal weasel pretending to be a Conservative. He knows either Kenney or Chandler will beat him because they are REAL Conservatives, not turncoats like him.

Jason Kenney would revitalize the P.C. party the moment he became its leader. The majority of Canadians, which, of course, includes Albertans, have unabiding faith and admiration for him, due to his steadfastness, intelligence and commonsense.
While Brian Jean has done a more than admirable job of revitalizing the Wildrose party after the unholy defection of Danielle Smith and her nefarious cohorts, he would serve the whole of Alberta better under one Conservative party umbrella. His faithful political contribution to date would not be forgotten by loyal Albertans should he wisely decide to team up with Jason Kenney.

Just one thing Brian. Lukaszuk is a FORMER MLA. He may be a big shot in the PC Liberal Party of Alberta but he is not in government and I am thankful for that small but significant fact.

I would vote for Jason in a heartbeat. I hope he kicks Lukaszuk and Jensen out of the party. They have shown who they really are by attacking him, and have shown their true colours by exposing their socialist agenda. And as usual the MSM are backing losers, with their lies and deception.

Lukaszuk was and is just “one of them”. The exact type that needs to be cleaned out. Don’t be surprised if he ends up a Lieberal or Dipper.
Kenney for Premier!

The MSM have identified Jason Kenney as a real threat to their socialist desires for Canada and Alberta. Any tweet made by Kenney is immediately attacked by the MSM. The MSM will print any derogatory comments made by the likes of Lukaszuk or Jensen.

If Kenney runs for leader of the Alberta PC’s on a platform of uniting the right in Alberta, I will buy a membership and vote for Kenney.

Go Kenny go and make brian jean the energy minister.

Lukaszuk This guy is an a hole. he is part of the problem.

Wasn’t he the loser to the master of losers, Prentice, in the P/C leadership race? And the doorstep assaulter of a Sr. citizen who was voting W/R in 2012? And the opportunist that turned against Redford when he thought it was to his benefit, after supporting her ‘loyally’ when it was to his benefit?

That Lukaszuk?

That would be good if Jason Kenny tried to unite the right in Alberta!

I respect Jason Kenny a lot and I think he could do an excellent job bringing Conservatives together in Alberta.

Thomas Lukaszuk is the exact type of PC that Alberta needs to kick to the curb. It is socialists like him that have destroyed the PC party.

Wanting to bar Kenney only exposes his Liberal extremist roots. If Kenney runs, and wins, the first thing he should do is clean house of all the wolves in sheep’s clothing, starting with Lukaszuk! I hope he’s started a list already . . . .

Respect Jason Kenney and want him to run in Alberta. Just make sure he doesn’t want a carbon tax or any other garbage climate change crap. Lucasik needs to shut up and join Sandra Jensen out of our real conservative party and go join the theiven ndpees and liberals.

Lukaszuk is a CINO through and through. With his own leadership aspirations coming, he will do everything he can to bar Kenney from presenting something more than Lukaszuk’s rebranded CINO crap.

This one of reasons why there are no more conservatives in Canada: they are too cowardly.

Alberta can’t afford any slip ups. The right must unite, we can’t take any chances. The whole country is balancing on the edge of the precipice and Kenny is just the one to secure the conservatives in Alberta again. It matters to all of us.

Lukaszuk is an idiot. Seen him on TV many times. Spouts gibberish similar but not as extreme as Stephanie Dion. Talks and talks and talks and doesn’t say a damn thing. He is a true Liberal in every sense of the word.

Every time a Jansen or a Lukaszuk sticks their head up from the political ditch and bristles at the mention of Kenney’s name, it becomes even more obvious that there is only one conservative party currently operating in Alberta. The one that does not have “Progressive” in its name.

I met that luzazichuk somewhere and he was a loud mouth shmuck

I love Kenney always have. You know. I would do backflips to have him running this province but I must give credit to Brian Jean. If Jason was behind him with Derek we could crush the world
