Rocklin Academy in California is proving to be one of the worst schools in America.
Not only did a kindergarten teacher have a “gender reveal” party for a male student, but parents weren't even made aware or given a chance to have their five-year-olds opt out of the activity.
According to Fox News, school leaders informed moms and dads that their children were not allowed to opt out and the state did not require them to notify parents.
The activity left some students stunned and concerned.
“My daughter came home crying and shaking so afraid she could turn into a boy,” the parent of of a kindergartner said.
And now, students are actually getting in trouble if they “misgender” fellow students. Fox reports that the incident occurred during the first week of school when a first grader called a student by his given name on the playground.
“This innocent little first grader sees a classmate, calls him by the name she knew him last year and the boy reports it to a teacher,” Capitol Resource Institute’s Karen England told Fox. “The little girl gets in trouble on the playground and then gets called out of class to the principal’s office.”
After an hour-long “investigation” by the principal, it was determined the girl hadn't intentionally “bullied” the transgender student by calling him by his given name. Regardless, the girl was traumatized and told her mother what had happened.
“I stressed over and over with the principal that I am all for protecting the rights of [the transgender child], but my children have rights as well,” the girl's mother wrote in a letter. “It makes me sad that my daughter felt like she was punished for trying to be kind to the kid.”
