PETA chickens out over Muslim sheep slaughter in Quebec

David MenziesMission Specialist

While Justin Trudeau was touring a gender-apartheid mosque with a dubious reputation earlier this month, over at a farm in Centre-du-Quebec hundreds of sheep were being slaughtered in the open air by thousands of Muslims.

Marking Eid al-Adha with a celebration involving sacrificing lambs, revellers cut the throats of about one thousand sheep in a field near Drummondville then went on to “prepare” the meat using techniques such as burning the lamb’s head and legs with a torch, allegedly while the lambs were still alive.

Apparently, animal sacrifice is legal in Canada, albeit a tad unsettling to those who are fans of civilization.

Thinking about the lamb massacre, I wondered where the social justice warrior types from the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals were?

Inhumanely sacrificing livestock in 21st century Canada, yet PETA was AWOL.

And this has been going on in Quebec for years.

Instead of standing against animal cruelty in Quebec, PETA was on the warpath against a tiny Tasmanian town to change its name from Eggs and Bacon Bay to Apple and Cherry Bay.

PETA chickened out due to political correctness, going for low-hanging fruit with the name of a town but ignoring the silencing of the lambs since that involves crossing paths with Islam.

Muslims are taking over the abattoir business and they are only nice to Muslims . SELYWYN — The number of abattoirs in Ontario has shrunk from 189 back in 2006, to 141 as of 2016, a 25 per cent decrease over 10 years.

“That’ll be 50 per cent in another 10,” said Joe Donaldson, who has run Smokey Joe’s just outside of Peterborough for the last 13 years.

“The worst of it is that regulations are a moving target,” said Donaldson. BSE in Canada has changed the industry, he said, and those changes are costing slaughterhouse owners money. “Once our kill floors made revenue. Now they’re the cost of doing business.

“Years ago when we got paid for guts and hides, that paid the hydro bill and the man’s wages. Now hide sales don’t even cover your bone pickup.”

Donaldson has managed to continue to make a go of it because of his location. “I’m in cottage country.” That has meant his retail store has thrived, which he’s planning on expanding.

“But 90 per cent of the abattoirs, the little guys, are on the back roads and don’t have the chance to do retail.”

Part of the issue around the regulations, said Donaldson, is that animal welfare has taken the front seat. “In some sense it’s good, but when you penalize us, the underground market thrives.

“What I’m seeing is the farmer will phone me and say they have a compromised animal. The cost of just the vet before he even gets it here is $300 to $500, so he says he’ll do it on the farm, or he’ll get it taken care of somewhere else.

“If that animal shows up here it has to face the rigours of inspection. If we inspect it and find it’s diseased we can stop it, but if it goes into the underground economy we can’t.

“We’re all for safety, but if that animal isn’t in the system we can’t stop it.”

And Donaldson said that among the three or four abattoirs he’s seen go under over the last few years, their replacements (when they do get replaced) aren’t necessarily farmer friendly.

“They’re being bought by the Muslim community. The regular farmer that needs custom work, those places are becoming unavailable because they focus on their own community.”

Trying to get a new abattoir going is not just an uphill battle. “There’s no way. The regulations are too crazy to get started.”

But it isn’t only the regulations keeping fresh blood out of the business. Patti Thurston, who has run Len & Patti’s Butcher Block in Little Britain since 2006, said most of her workers are in their 50s and 60s.

“It’s not the kind of work everyone can do. I was able to pick up skilled people from the places that shut down, but as far as young people, it’s difficult to find them.”

Some of the farmers that come to her to slaughter their animals drive for 2 or 3 hours, and if they haven’t booked a few months in advance, she can’t guarantee them a spot.

“You could fill every day of the week but then it’s got to be processed and you can only do so much.”

And the owners have their hands full. Most of the slaughterhouses in Ontario, said Thurston, are mom and pop operations, where the owners do much of the work themselves, not just slaughtering but the paperwork as well. “Paperwork which just gets heavier every year, or every time you turn around.”

That’s not even to mention rising hydro costs. After Thurston got the issues with her new hydro meter sorted out, she noticed her hydro bill had jumped by $1,000 a month.

Thurston, who also runs a retail store, said “the only good trend is the emphasis on buying locally, whether it’s produce or meat, more so than we’ve ever seen.”

Nevertheless, the challenges she faces mean that “you’re just making a living.”

“Years ago you did a lot better than you do now. I can see how when these places close, they don’t open again.”

“Not for long we wouldn’t – not if you and your boss had any say in it.
BTW – I don’t consider your Hegelian dialectic to be “free speech” with an intent of arriving at the truth of a matter – because under your dialectic system of fallacious equivalence and thesis-antithesis-synthesis, the real truth of a matter is sublimated in factual and intellectual compromise.”

Absolutely agree Bill.

Since I can remember Liberals have successfully driven a wedge between Canadians (East vs.West, English vs. French, Canadians vs. immigrants) yet they continually claim that they stand for free speech and unity. The complete opposite has been proven time and again. Two outstanding instances of curtailing freedom:
Federally Liberal PM Pierre Trudeau invoked The War Measures Act, Liberal Premiere McGuinty issued a secret G20 law.

Why anyone would give that Liberal Troll any credence whatsoever is rather amusing in itself. He has admitted he trolls for the Lib camp, he hasn’t confessed that he is paid but given his tenaciousness and numerous aliases since the site was first started it is safe to assume so. He has repeatedly tried to shut down free speech on this site, two of his aliases were banned due to excess vulgarity. He has proven what the Lib camp followers believe in.

PETA is an organization who’s main goal is to line the pockets of the upper echelons while the plebes below are played like suckers and our politicians played like fiddles.

While we are all calling out making fun activists the government is being let off the hook. Unless that farm was under federal regulatory license it is illegal to render an animal for third party use. A person may not even sell livestock and allow the buyer to render it on the property. And. If the farm was under license were the animals rendered humainly? These are much larger and far more important questions. If federal laws were violated the Canada Food Inspection Agency is mandated to investigate. Or we can wait for a bunch of little kids to act.

Here’s a link to the ‘E-Mail PETA’ page:

I’d suggest sending them a wee note…maybe include a link or a copy of The Menzoid’s piece, and definitely an opinion about these PETAphiles flashing their little titties everywhere except where it’s important or meaningful…I hope they’re not getting taxpayer money!

Sure Shebal Raj, there is one set of laws for Muslims and another for the rest of us. If Trudeau has his way we will be punished for complaining about it.

Bill Elder said to Sean/Jay/Jimmy – " … you just go girl/man/chicken lady, er whatever. " It certainly does get confusing what to call him/her/it, doesn’t it? And it changes based upon his/her/it’s schizoid personality at the time he/she/it comments.

Why don’t you all just admit that there a rule for Society and then there is a rule for MUSLIMS.

Jay Kelly, you are afraid to admit your wives wear burkas, bee keepers suits, and batman costumes. You insist on calling a burka an evening dress, are you ashamed?
You keep saying you like chicken and lamb as if we should care about what meat you eat. How about pork Jay, you eat pork?

Ouch! Wasn’t David Menzies the guy who in the last election walked into the polling booth in a black evening dress to see how they would respond?

That looked really weird.

I eat chicken and I eat lamb. Maybe I should think about it and reconsider, but for now that is how it is.

Readers on The Rebel have a privilege to have an outlet for free speech.

Jay Kelly-Sean Penson – I see both your personalities harbor repressed homo-erotic feelings for Dave Menzies (And chickens and sheep if we are to believe your latest Freudian plea for help)

I think you should identify with whatever you like Sean/Jay/Jimmy – if you want to be a cross dressing chicken in drag with a Menzoid man crush – you just go girl/man/chicken lady, er whatever.

PS: how many personalities/identities are in you now, what a dozen or so? Must get confusing at the thrift shop picking out ensembles for you all.

Sean, I agree. Muslims should have whatever they want. Absolutely! And they want an infidel to torture to death. Perhaps you could be a sport and offer yourself to their tender mercies? I think we have a certain obligation to make up for past wrongs as you say. So, be the ultimate virtue signaller, please. Please? Please? You’ll probably make the news! Not on MSM but certainly you can be on one of Victor’s profiles. Please?

PETA chickened out because they are gutless cowards who only go after the low hanging fruit. Neve seen one attack a biker because he wears leather. Old ladies in fur coats are fair game though.

David Menzies generally writes colourful items, but when I read the headline: “PETA chickens out over Muslim sheep slaughter in Quebec” I thought he meant that chickens were out in favour of sheep!

Me, I eat chicken quite often, even though I know they are raised in bulk barns which reduce the nutritional value of the meat and make a kinda plain taste. Less often I have lamb, which is also less flavourful because of the conditions in which they are fattened and slaughtered.

David Menzies has explored identity, especially when he paraded around in public in a full-length evening gown. Should we eat mass-raised chickens or lovely wooly sheep? I really do not know.

It is not a question of Christian or Muslim or Quebecer or Ontarian. I do like eating chicken and lamb.

Maybe David and I should get into the farmyard more often.

Normally I relegate troll gibbering to the flusher it belongs in, however Penson posts under several aliases and is obsessed with disrupting THIS site – he has all the psyche profile of a stalker and the site moderator risks the site security by allowing him on here.

Besides if you’re going to troll you gotta have a thick hide and I just love flaming trolls – specially the the snowflakes who are psychologically unstable like Penson/Kelly? and his other throw away aliases.
