I’m all for seeing animal cruelty stamped out wherever it exists but it was curious to see PETA launch a major offensive recently against Hallmark.
It seems they incurred PETA’s wrath over a handful of greeting cards that feature photographs of chimpanzees dressed up in human clothing which PETA claims harms these primates.
I guess even apes can have self-esteem issues?
PETA urged the public to contact Hallmark to demand the company stop photographing chimpanzees only to have the company issue a statement noting they haven’t commissioned any new chimp photography in almost a decade.
Yeah, never mind . . .
I think I’ll send PETA a greeting card in the days ahead to educate them. Call me a cheeky monkey but I’m going to make sure it’s a Hallmark card and that it prominently features a primate.
