Petition asks wealthy radical feminist Emma Watson to spend a week in refugee camp without bodyguards

StaffRebel Columnist

Pro-refugee activist and radical feminist Emma Watson is going to need some magic to get out of this one.

Watson, best known for her role as Hermione Granger in Harry Potter is the subject of a new petition asking her to spend a week in a Calais refugee camp.

The petition's description says: “In order to show how safe current migration is to Europe, particularly regarding the cause of feminism (I reject wholeheartedly the notion that North African and Middle Eastern migrants are unsafe, and rapists), Emma Watson should spend a week's holiday in a Calais migrant camp, without guards of course, to show how safe, and how pro feminism these migrants are.”

It has been a rough few days for Watson. She was accused of hijacking the death of her Harry Potter co-star Alan Rickman to push her feminist agenda. Shortly after his death, she tweeted a photo of Rickman with the following quote, “There is nothing wrong with a man being a feminist, I think it is to our mutual advantage.”

So far the petition has just over 4000 of the 5000 it's asking for. Watson has not responded to the petition on social media as of this post.

Emma Watson has been criticized previously for her particular brand of white liberal feminism while the voices of 'true' activists such as Ayaan Hirsi Ali are silenced.

More brainless bored celebrities who have nothing better to do than pretend they live on a higher moral ground.
These people need to take a workshop and get educated on the full body of knowledge.
Ayaan Hirsi Ali would CRUSH Emma Watson with logic.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali can be seen in this debate kicking ass, not because she’s intelligent, which she is, but because she’s actually well informed on the subject. Here she speaks for 7 minutes on why Islam is a belief system of violent, not of peace.

It is not rape if a muslim does it.

She would not last ten minutes in a rapefugee camp.

I suppose no one would have a problem with Watson’s activism if she was, say, a nurse, a soldier, a doctor, clergy, etc. Instead, she’s a actor, model, and professional famous person. I guess you could say not a lot separates her from the likes of Paris Hilton – except Paris didn’t go to Brown U.

Emma Watson is typical of the celebrity social-activist icons that are being banded about these days.

Not only is she attractive, wealthy, very, very privileged (The woman is a graduate of Brown University and did her baccalaureate at a Dragon School, no less.) and very, very famous, apparently she’s telling everyone how to live their lives. Of course, she has the UN behind her, so she much be awesome. She’s kind of like that other celebrity activist icon, Leonardo DiCaprio. Leo is a great actor – he really is – and he has championed a lot of causes. His favourite cause is the environment. Leo goes around, like Emma, telling people how to live their lives in harmony with the environment. But Leo does this while jetting around on a private jet, so sailing the oceans of the world on his massive yacht. (He says he doesn’t own the yacht, so it’s not the same thing.) Keep in mind that Leo has a lot to do, other than his activism: he’s also a producer, entrepreneur, journalist, humanitarian…I mean his humanity is demonstrated by the multitude of models that follow him everywhere. Of course, you need yachts and private jets for all that.

It’s weird that two very privileged people feel they carry the weight of the world on their shoulders, and tell everyone else how to live. We can blame Bono for starting this.
