Polish media STILL under communist influence: A lesson for the West

Jack BuckbyRebel Contributor

In this final segment of my series of Poland films, I met Anna Maria Siarkowska, the leader of the Republican Party of Poland.

She was kind enough to lend me some time to talk about what makes her party different, why she believes young people are so active in conservatism in Poland, and how we can take on the post-communist media.

If you think Soviet influence in Poland fell with the Berlin Wall, think again:

Siarkowska explains that even decades later, Poland's media still is still influenced by the post-communists.

She also has some choice words for the people of Britain who refuse to stand up for their country.

What a breath of fresh air to listen to this song woman. She hit the nail on the head. The West is in decline because we are in spiritual decline. I don’t necessarily hold to her views on the Catholic church but I definitely hold to her views on Christianity being the foundation of the West.

Years ago there was a small book called, Termites in the Shape of Men. In it the author predicted the place we are in because he saw that the leftists and regressives were chiselling away at the foundation of Western culture. He said they wanted the structure but not it’s foundation. It turned out he was wrong on that score. They don’t want the structure which is whether are eating away the foundations.

Materialism is a false god that cannot be a sufficient base for our nation. But even conservatives focus almost exclusively on that aspect of national life.

“Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain.”
Psalm 127:1

Not unlike our own media. If you want a good laugh and to be enraged, read the CBC’s page on their “Journalistic Standards and Practises.” You’ll especially like this bit about their independence:

• To protect our independence

We are independent of all lobbies and of all political and economic influence. We uphold freedom of expression and freedom of the press, the touchstones of a free and democratic society. Public interest guides all our decisions."
