Poll: Australians more pro-U.S. under Trump than Obama

Mark LathamRebel Host

Who would have thought? After 18 months of Trump Derangement Syndrome in the Australian media, there has been a 14 percentage point increase in the number of Australians who want to remain close to the United States.

This time last year, in the influential Lowy Institute Poll, 51 per cent of Australian wanted to keep close relations with the United States. That was under President Barack Obama.

Now the figure is 65 per cent, a vote of confidence in Donald Trump and his new foreign policy stance.

With the Republicans winning important special elections in the US, and now America's longtime security partner, Australia, giving the thumbs up for Trump, it's clear the mainstream media has failed in its vilification campaign.

People want to make up their own minds about politics, to get the other side of the story, and they aren't swallowing the MSM hysteria about the new president.

In the Lowy Poll, only 29 per cent of Australians want to distance themselves from the USA under Trump — a slap in the face for the Greens' and Labor's left-wing foreign affairs spokesperson, Penny Wong, who have been urging disassociation from the Trump Administration.

We love The Donald!

Andrew and your comment is making specious deductions as well. But that never stopped you before.

Ron you are correct but by now you would think Canadians would realise they are being fooled.
When I said at least he is trying to help his country I mean Mr. Trump

Andrew maybe that will change after North Korea fires a nuclear war head at the USA . Obama was is s Muslim and Muslim sympathiser . At least he is a leader trying to help his country not like the destroyers in Canada .

Quote from same poll:
“Now the figure is 65 per cent, a vote of confidence in Donald Trump and his new foreign policy stance.”

This claim is not at all supported in the poll, and you’re speculating that support for economic ties with the US must mean support for Trump. As it turns out, you don’t need to make possibly specious deductions, since they actually asked that very question directly and pretty much refute this very statement. (I suppose this omission is deliberate, since the speculation is far more flattering than the reality).

“Mr Trump still elicits negative responses. Overall, six in ten Australians say Donald Trump causes them to have an unfavourable opinion of the United States, with most younger adults (70% of those under 45 years of age) and a majority of women (68%) seeing Mr Trump as a negative factor in their opinions”

The main stream media all over the Western democratic world where they bash Trump, the majority of people support Trump.

This just proves the majority of the people are starting to wake up the the blatant lies and manipulation of the news that comes from the MSM.

It would not surprise me that some left wing governments will pull a “Hitler” and make it illegal to listen to anything other than the national state broadcaster while screaming at the Conservatives calling the “Hitler” and “racist”.

Mark Chadwick—-The average Canadian voter is politically stupid because they listen to our media.
CTV and CBC seem to have nothing to discuss about Canada, so they bad mouth Trump 24/7. I have heard CTV even lie about what Trump says in his speeches.

Mark Latham, the world-wide msm got in wrong and no matter how much help they gave Hillary, it didn’t matter…Donald Trump won; there were alternative media sources who called it correctly & well in advance of the election.
Identity politics has infected so many nations; for those people who engage in it, they have given up on rational thinking!
