Polls confirm Albertans can’t be bribed with their own money: Majority STILL oppose carbon tax

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Host | The Gunn Show

A new poll done by Think HQ/Metro shows that two-thirds of Albertans still oppose the carbon tax.

The Albertans that received a rebate from the government aren't convinced either, with 63% of those folks remaining opposed to the carbon tax.

All those rebates, all that wasted money, only bought the NDP social licence from an additional one percent of Albertans.

Another poll done by Mainstreet showed the number of people opposed to the carbon tax was even higher in rural Alberta - up to 70%.

Who could have seen that one coming?

That same Mainstreet poll showed that 40% of Albertans don't believe that humans are causing climate change at all which means the NDP will never have the buy-in of at least 40% of Albertans for their climate leadership plans.

After $9M spent on advertising the carbon tax everywhere, the NDP still can’t convince Albertans by bribing them with their own money.

Look at the history of Iceland. The first time the Vikings tried to colonize it, they died out.

Global Warming, the darling mission of the left? Ask any lefty why it is that both Greenland and Iceland at the time of the Vikings were actually quite green, not mostly frozen over as they are now. SUV’s driven by said Vikings? Once the obscenities spewed by the lefty stop, it will be followed by he/she/it running away to avoid facts and debate!

Space Moose asked, “Notice how nobody actually celebrates the arrival of the carbon tax?”

Well, except the NDP and their crony capitalist friends who benefit from it, of course.

James Richie you mean like the SCIENCE that says abortion is harmful and reduces your chances of having a full term pregnancy? Or the science of biology that says there are men and women, no made up genders?
commented 2017-02-26 05:11:35 -0500
James Richie every Christian sins , as everyone sins, the new progressive pope is pretty much saying all Christians. He is a moron.
And hey more proof that the Washington Post is full of sh*t.
I guess it really is a problem eh? Now go pay for some fake science, you say we ignore it , when you present WP strawman arguments as facts LMAO!

James Richie,

Apparently you have accepted the fact that you cannot form a proper argument for man made global warming, i will not give the A-HOLES at the UN any merit by calling it climate change which is obviously happening as it has since time began. So if you are going to be the poster child on these forums for global warming please at least become informed of the data. You can start with the NOAA reports prior to COP 21 that were altered improperly to suit the narrative. Why lie if its happening? oh thats right to trick gullible people who are too lazy to actually research anything (enter james richie).

Your grasp on science seems to be very flimsy, yet another student that was left behind sadly. I live in Edmonton if you ever care to meet up and debate the merits of each side i would love to once you become informed.

James said..
the Pope has suggested atheists shouldn’t be seen as sinners if they do good.
God says.
One does not enter heaven by their works alone.
So now James I expect you to tell me that the pope knows more about God than God knows about God..
You have tried that before and failed miserably.
You are a fraud and a failure both at scripture and science.!!

I see James Richie studiously avoided providing proof of anthropogenic climate change.

I am so shocked.

Come on, James. The 40% of Albertans that do not believe in Anthropogenic Climate Change are anxiously awaiting your proof.

We wanna believe, James, we wanna! We just won’t believe until there is proof. You DO want to convince the 40% that your AGW religion is real, don’tcha??
commented 2017-02-25 20:09:32 -0500

I only want you to respond to the physicists of the Russian Academy, with your counter citations. Should be easy, for a scientific literate like yourself to do. Being also science trained, I am interested in the counter-argument that you imply exists.

But then you called me an Alberta Schlub who disrespects physicists, which maybe suggests you are not a scientifically trained but scienticianally trained instead. Say, how do you think Fred’s heels stand the braking against kinetic inertia? Or how rock wheels can stand the centripetal forces on stopping in the Flintstones?

And, as I look back in the stream, it was not Peter who started the religious stream, it was little old you.

Anyway, I still want the explanation why you accuse me of disrespecting Russian physicists.

Canadian Mongrel,

1. It’s a waste of time to try to prove ANYTHING to people who are anti-logic and anti-science. Nothing I can say or provide will change the mind of the idiots here. I have accepted that.

2. I was responding to Peter regarding his God comment per the Pope Francis view of atheists.
commented 2017-02-25 19:44:03 -0500

I still want to know why you are accusing me, who is physics trained, of disrespecting Russian physicists.

Also, I don’t understand what your solipsistic aside about Francis has to do with Peter’s reasonable request about your sources regarding AGW, or whatever socialist science is calling it now. As far as I know, the Roman Bishop is not a scientist nor even a socialist scientician. Very confusing.

Peter Netterville,

What will I have lost exactly? If I am dead – I am dead.

Pope Francis criticized Catholics who live a double life, suggesting that it is better to be an atheist than a hypocritical Christian.

Francis made the comments Thursday during his private morning mass at his home in Casa Santa Marta in Vatican City.

He continued:

“‘I am very Catholic, I always go to mass, I belong to this association and that one; but my life is not Christian, I don’t pay my workers a just wage, I exploit people, I am dirty in my business, I launder money …’ A double life. And so many Christians are like this, and these people scandalize others. How many times have we heard — all of us, around the neighbourhood and elsewhere — ‘but to be a Catholic like that, it’s better to be an atheist.’”

Francis’ comments followed his mass readings, which included a passage from the Gospel of Mark that read, “If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off.”

The day before he made the comments, the Pope tweeted the gates of heaven should be open, not closed.

It’s not the first time the Pope has suggested atheists shouldn’t be seen as sinners if they do good.

Clearly The Pope feels that even atheists will get into Heaven if they are good people. Since he is the closest person to God, I will take his view over your view.

I posted this earlier

The NDP government isn’t only Illegal and immoral as well they are now illiterate..
Rachel Notley likes to refer to the carbon tax that she has called so many times and now she calls it a tariff trying to duck legalities on the GST.!!
By definition a tariff is a tax applied to the import or export of certain commodities.!!
there’s no such thing as a carbon tariff.!!

@ James Richie who said, “The best part of all this is that you believe that there is a man living in the clouds.”

If you are right and there is no “man living in the clouds” as you mockingly misrepresent God, then I have lost nothing if I worship Him throughout my live except maybe a bit of time.

If you are wrong and there is a God as described in the Bible, then you have lost everything … forever.

@ James Richie

James, I am still waiting for you to provide cold hard facts, the unaltered original source data that proves that anthropogenic climate change is occurring.

Being a man of science, James, I am sure you would not believe in something without cold hard facts and a proven scientific method which verifies the AGW hypothesis using those cold hard facts.

Please, James, please? The 40% of Albertans who do not believe that anthropogenic climate change is real are anxiously awaiting your proof.

And then maybe once you have provided that, you can explain how the carbon tax actually solves the problem.

By calling it a levy, Notley and her criminals took a page from Preston Manning. He suggested to call the tax a levy, because he thinks the people are so stupid that they won’t know that it’s a tax. I think Preston is on Notley’s payroll. And as usual, we the people can sniff out his influence a mile a way!

They likely collect hundreds probably up to 1000 dollars and give back 60 or 80 bucks. Only an NDP supporter would be happy with that. NDP is finished the right is uniting and they will become even more desperate as we near an election, No doubt we will be bribed with even more of our own money and other peoples money. Prepare for the union commercials and the hysteria from gov employees about all the great services they provide paid for with our money as well . The entire gov will become more and more insane as the election nears. So will the redford liberals. Good riddance to all of them. Go Kenny go

James Richie i guess you know more than Tim Ball, who is far smarter than Tyson in the climate area.
And yes as a schlub from Alberta i am far smarter than you. Jimmy Reece. Please tell us why all the predictions these hacks make turn out to be BOGUS? IDIOT!

Since Finland introduced a Carbon tax on hydrocarbon fuels in 1990. (I think they were the first) And after all other countries experiments, the fact is, Carbon Taxation has not decreased the earth’s temperature by one trillionth degree. That’s 27 years! Repeat: Not 1 Trillionth of a degree reduction.
But according to Notley, Trudeau, Butts, Wynne, Suzuki and James Ritchie, Canada who produces less than 2% of the world’s entire carbon dioxide emissions (before consideration of carbon sinks) is going to be the difference maker, by having hard working Canadians pay a foolish tax.

Hey James Richie,

So neil de grasse says climate change is real and you believe it without doing your own research? Typical liberal, unable to form their own opinion. I have researched it heavily and it is all a fascade, once you research the money involved and the hundreds of millions made by select people you can see the reason to keep pushing a agenda even though the evidence has proven the theory is false. So please keep believing what people say it gives us sane people a glimpse into the insanity of the left.
Oh btw neil de grasse isnt involved in the field of climatology yet you use him as your spokesman. I find this odd, MIT Professor emeritus Richard Lindzen who does nothing but research the subject has called it what it is a cult. Fanatical people pushing an agenda. Feel free next time to use someone actually involved in the field as it would lend some credibility to your argument.
Alberta’s boreal forests capture more carbon then we emit, where is our money for capturing so much carbon and storing it on our lands? Food for thought.

Peace out James, always remember liberalism is a mental disorder.

I am glad those nauseating climate leadership plan commercials are finished. I listen to four different radio channels and all of them were pumping out the same thing. I do give the NDP credit for a very good production as it was professionally done and will no doubt suck in some of the hard working citizens just driving to and from work.

I received a $150.00 rebate for the year. I immediately gave all of it away. Dirty rotten stinking Rachel bucks make me sick. Ralph bucks were much better.

James Richie said to my comment, “Yes, a dipshit virgin working IT is more credible than say a scientist and astrophysicist.”

“Richie will just respond with some series of insults … "

Just as I predicted. All James did was come back with insults. Thanks for proving me right, James.

And I didn’t even say anything that required “credibility”. All I did was challenge the fool to provide proof. Failed again, James.

How long have you been a failure, James?
commented 2017-02-24 21:14:49 -0500
Climate change is a hoax brought to us by the UN and Maurice Strong who originated IPCC and agenda 21 at the climate meetings at Rio in 1992. It is all on the internet so google Maurice Strong and follow the threads. Maurice Strong was a socialist who got his start when PET appointed him to run Petrocanada.
commented 2017-02-24 20:52:51 -0500
And James… As I understand it you wish to support climate change and carbon tax so my advice to you is move to a country long and far away from this one where you can voice your ideologies and be embraced by like-minded leftists who would gladly buy into fake science and pursue their socialist Marxist dreams right up until the point where the government coffers run dry and the people are broke and nobody can support you anymore but when that happens for god sake’s don’t move back here..!!!
Stay there and help them rebuild and learn what it means to have being taken by ideology and nonsense.!!
