Premier Wall repeats call to hit the pause button on refugees plan at first Minister’s summit

Brian LilleyArchive

Saskatchewan’s Premier Brad Wall is once again the voice of sanity on the national stage as Canada gets set to welcome 25,000 refugees by January 1st.

More than half of Canadians are skeptical of the plan but that doesn’t matter to those who support Trudeau’s plan who continue to accuse those who are unsure, of being bigoted xenophobes.

These baseless accusations demean the importance of getting public policy right.

Premier Wall once again addressed those accusations at the first Ministers meeting boldly speaking up in favour of not allowing a political promise to drive this process.

Trudeau's Liberals MUST halt plans to bring in 25,000 Syrian refugees
until they can guarantee the safety of the Canadian people.

Remember that normally refugees that are rejected get to appeal it in court.

Where is Stephen Harper? He has had enough time to lick his wounds. Brad Wall needs allies, particularly a powerful one like Harper. Harper is well respected among world leaders and many Canadians. Albertans need his voice, Conservatives need his voice and Canadians need his voice. Our country is being ransacked, now is not the time to fall silent Stephen.

I do not think Premier Brad Wall should be labelled a bigot and xenophobic. He comes from a rich tradition of Conservatism in this country.

And I agree with the others, we need a guy like this running our country instead of that selfie dip shit Justy. Are the Libs going to blame climate change for not meeting the 25000 quota, or is that on Harper?

Libs backtracking on the campaign promise of 25000 refugees by Christmas. Gramma always said, “behind every cloud, there is a silver lining”. That’s one broken campaign promise, more to follow. And about using the word Christmas here, I make no apologies.

RAE FRASER commented 4 hours ago, thanks for the chuckle, although this is no laughing matter.

This is interesting. We can be sure that we are safe because the refugees have all been vetted by the UN. However the first 10,000 are to be sponsorship refugees. Yet…
“For Syrian and Iraqi refugees – As of September 19, 2015, the Government of Canada has temporarily exempted Syrians and Iraqis fleeing the current conflict from the requirement to provide proof of refugee status in order to be sponsored. This means that a Group of Five or Community Sponsor can submit an application without a document proving recognized refugee status.”

Too bad there are not more politicians like Brad Wall.

Just the other day, the Winnipeg mayor, Bowman, went on the news to say that Winnipeg should take as many refugees as possible.

None of the old rules apply “It’s 2015”

So its Brad Wall on one side the other side Trudeau from Que.the Dippers from Alberta—Manitoba and a nut bar from Ont.

I agree. The same old Liberal party (with a prettier face) is in charge.

Richard – they are lying, so that they can bring all of these young, able bodied men in under the radar. Liberals = Liars. We must never forget this, and we forget at our own peril.

So a single man can enter Canada from Syria provided he is gay, bisexual or another of Kathleen Wynne’s genders other than male. How many single males are going to declare that they are gay in front of the interviewer for that in-depth 1 minute interview? Don’t any of these people think these things through. If one was living in a tent on with rice and whatever else for food supply, and all that person had to say was that he was gay and he could move to Canada and live in luxury (by comparison), and once there continue with whatever gender he identified with- who would not do it.

Screw the ‘pause ’ button .
Just hit ’DELETE’.

If we can’t call him Prime Minister yet let’s call him Premier Ministre like Phil Couillard in Québec!

We need this guy to be the next Conservative leader. I know he says he wants to stay on and run for another term as premier but I think the Conservatives should wait and see as he may change his mind after the provential election. There is no rush as Rona Ambrose will do a good job as acting leader. Wait a couple of years and then do whatever it takes to get him to take the job. The country will no doubt be in sorry shape by then so maybe he will feel a sense of duty to bring some sanity back to our country.

Brad Wall is the last conservative standing. Watch Tides Canada and Suzuki pull out all the stops to dethrone him.

The only common sense voice in the room, Brad Wall.

Whoohoo I ruv refugees. ……..burp……. and scotch. Sorry, just had lunch with John McCallum.

I don’t understand. Apparently, Canada only accepts single male Refugees who are Gay. How do we screen for that?
commented 2015-11-24 15:18:31 -0500
Trudeau hates Canadians, and will continue with his insanity at break neck speed, so that he can be sure to stick it to Christians, and Canadians, just in time for Christmas!
commented 2015-11-24 15:14:48 -0500
I signed the petition when it first came out. Trudeau must realize the seriousness of accepting refugees from an area where there will very likely be terrorists among them to do much harm in Canada. These Islamic terrorists have said this is what they will do and they will. Screening them is no good because they’ll only lie. We shouldn’t accept any of them period. The should build more structures over there in a safe zone for refugees. Canada could support this. It would be much safer and cheaper.

Thank you Premier Wall, you truly seem to be the only sane voice on the subject, along with 67% of all Canadians. Trudeau’s dangerous and reckless brain dead scheme is right out of Obama’s play book of divisiveness and as you suggest purely political. We will pay dearly for his stupidity.
commented 2015-11-24 14:46:14 -0500
they are apparently realizing that all of their rhetoric on this nonsense is just that ..

My indoctrination into Backward Hell town is not working, as this man continues to make good sense to me. Maybe I’m just too old to be taught how to turn off all reason and sanity. I’m a lost cause.
