Professor Placed on Leave for Blaming Las Vegas Shooting on 'White Masculinity'

Kristin TateRebel Buzz Contributor

According to one tenured professor at Drexel University, Stephen Paddock carried out the deadliest shooting in U.S. history because he has white privilege...

Yes, really.

That professor, George Ciccariello-Maher, has been placed on leave for his comments, which were made on Twitter:

Drexel released the following statement regarding Ciccariello-Maher’s suspension:

“The safety of Drexel’s students, faculty, professional staff and police officers are of paramount concern to Drexel. Due to a growing number of threats directed at Professor George Ciccariello-Maher, and increased concerns about both his safety and the safety of Drexel’s community, after careful consideration the University has decided to place Professor Ciccariello-Maher on administrative leave. We believe this is a necessary step to ensure the safety of our campus.”

In an op-ed for The Washington PostCiccariello-Maher says putting him on leave sends the "wrong signal":

“By bowing to pressure from racist internet trolls, Drexel has sent the wrong signal: That you can control a university’s curriculum with anonymous threats of violence. Such cowardice notwithstanding, I am prepared to take all necessary legal action to protect my academic freedom, tenure rights and most importantly, the rights of my students to learn in a safe environment where threats don’t hold sway over intellectual debate. Alongside organizations like the Campus Antifascist Network, I will continue to challenge white supremacists in an effort to make Drexel and all universities safe space for an intellectual debate among equals."

We still don't know Paddock's motive for carrying out the devastating massacre in Vegas—but being a white male probably wasn't one of them.

Ciccariello-Maher, who is an Antifa supporter, first garnered attention earlier this year when he claimed to support white genocide.

He teaches politics and global studies at Drexel.

It's unnerving to think that Ciccariello-Maher was teaching impressionable college kids at Drexel. But then again, it should really come as no surprise. Extreme left-wing thought has become the norm on campuses around the nation. Today, liberal professors outnumber conservative professors 12 to 1

In college, students should be taught how to think critically and independently. But unfortunately, at many universities, students are spoon-fed liberalism from the moment they step foot onto campus until they receive their diplomas.

Ezra and Brian read out my comment before the pay wall went up. Lawton read out my comment when Lawton on line was around.

I am done with this thread. It is too buried.

Space Moose, still unwilling to post a comment about the actual article I see. Aren’t you being just a tad childish?!!
Anyway, you put your foot in it and you don’t seem have the sense or honour to admit it.
commented 2017-10-16 15:25:45 -0400
Moose, what am I thinking, you didn’t get to hear/see Ezra & Brian read anything, too cheap to pay for a subscription.
commented 2017-10-16 15:23:28 -0400
Moose, they read out gripes about petitions and donations? Really?!!! Post links please!
commented 2017-10-16 11:59:54 -0400
Why yes, Ezra, Brian, and Lawton have read out my comments before.
commented 2017-10-16 08:32:13 -0400
Space Moose,
For a second time, how about posting about the content Kristin Tate’s article -Professor Placed on Leave for Blaming Las Vegas Shooting on ‘White Masculinity’

Did you happen to notice the same professor’s tweet, the last one had 87 Likes at the time of the screen shot. 87 people (likely many of them, his students) liked his remarks “All I want for Christmas is white genocide”.
He also created a backlash when he posted this on social media in March of this year:
“Some guy gave up his first class seat for a uniformed soldier. People are thanking him. I’m trying not to vomit or yell about Mosul.”
commented 2017-10-16 08:20:02 -0400
Space Moose, I’m talking about your posts that gripe about petitions & donations. I very much doubt Andrew Lawton, Ezra and Brian Lilley read those on the show. I think you intentionally misunderstood my previous post.

I’m not throwing all your comments to the scrap heap, some have been pretty funny or informative; some have made me wonder if you are SJW.
commented 2017-10-16 02:40:13 -0400
I am not the broken record that keeps asking for donations and petition sigs.

As a matter of a fact, Ezra has cared. On three separate occassions that I know of, he has read out my comments on his show. Brian Lilley read out one of my comments when he was filling in for Ezra. When Andrew Lawton did Lawton on line, he read my comment too.
commented 2017-10-15 17:46:14 -0400
Space Moose, you respond without fail, the broken-record approach is tiring and juvenile. Others on this site have told you the same thing for months. If you think Ezra pays attention to your whining, I think you put too much importance on your own words.

I’m very okay with the Rebel, hence, I pay for premium content. Petitions and donations are up to the individual to support, or not support. What part of this concept are you struggling to understand?
commented 2017-10-15 16:23:49 -0400
So you are okay with the rebel and all the petitions and donations. But not when I respond to them.
commented 2017-10-15 12:04:53 -0400
Moose, you already do post every time there is a petition or donation request, yawn! Concern for the newbie is it?!!! Yeah right.

Yes indeed you are off-putting!
commented 2017-10-15 11:48:57 -0400
I like to think that I am hoping that the newbie does not go down the route of asking for petition signatures and donations.

And you want proof of petition and donation requests? i will give it to you. Since you want proof, from now on I will write a comment every time the rebel asks for donations or petition signatures. Or even just the mention of either. So don’t tell me that I am off putting, since you are literally asking for it.
commented 2017-10-15 10:01:20 -0400
Space Moose, I’ll tell you what is off-putting; your whining & tendency to overstate! It was beyond you to post a comment relating to the actual article and provide feedback to a new contributor/staff. Pathetic!

You couldn’t back up your statement “Oh come on. Just this week the rebel was back bombarding us with petitions again.” or this one, "I think this past week we had petitions from Tommy, Menzies, Ezra, and Sheila. And I think that two or three of them were asking for money too. "
Then, you cry you don’t have time to “go digging”, and, when you are confronted about using the search tool to back up what you posted earlier; you use the standard teenage default of “is it my fault….”

How about reading the article in it’s entirety and posting your comments?!!!!!
commented 2017-10-15 01:51:36 -0400
Costco did not seem to have any objection to taking my money.

Is it my fault that there are always donation and petition requests here at the rebel? It is quite off putting. It was what drove many people away from here, including some of the staff. I really wish that the rebel would stop it.
commented 2017-10-15 00:55:02 -0400
Space Moose, your wallet called, it wants to be dusted off and opened more frequently!
commented 2017-10-15 00:03:41 -0400
Oh Moose, Costco doesn’t need your kind of patronage!
commented 2017-10-15 00:02:34 -0400
Space Moose, you lack the ability to back up your statements; so sad for you!
No digging required, there is a perfectly good search tool on this site, if you choose to use it.
Anyway, based on your lame response, I choose not to believe you.

The point is, your post to a first time contributor is a f***ing slap in the face; you post the same gripe all the time. I’m probably not the first person to tell you that your eternal complaints are tiring. As I said before, get some new material and stop exaggerating!
commented 2017-10-14 20:21:29 -0400
Look, I am not going to dig up every video with some petition or donation reference. You can believe me or not on this issue. I just know that I am sick of the petitions and donations.

I only go to Costco on the open house day, when a membership is not necessary.
commented 2017-10-14 14:01:24 -0400
Space Moose, you are mistaken.
Tommy posted a petition to help a veteran who has been beaten down by the Royal Navy; he gave an update concerning his studio and gave a video tour of it so far & he gave reminder to anyone who would like donate to the cost of building it, donations are still being accepted.
David Menzies gave an update via Hateful Idol report, whereby he delivered a petition to the drop box of London City Council as he was told to leave the property. Delivery of a petition is not the same thing as posting a petition. Please enlighten me as to what petitions you are referring to when it comes to Sheila and Ezra this week.

You remind me of the person who will go to Costco on someone else’s membership, tour the entire place for free samples, considering it meal replacement; then complain on the way out there weren’t enough foodstuffs to try.

Honestly Space Moose, your game is getting really old. Get some new material, and, please try to refrain from gross exaggerations. You are lacking credibility when you do this.
commented 2017-10-14 12:30:30 -0400
I think this past week we had petitions from Tommy, Menzies, Ezra, and Sheila. And I think that two or three of them were asking for money too.

Is this really news? Or just asking us for money again?
commented 2017-10-14 09:58:56 -0400
Space Moose, read your posts man; not just on this thread. This time you really grossly exaggerated by the way. “Just this week the rebel was back bombarding us with petitions again”
We got an update by David Menzies re: Petition to London City Council
Tommy Robinson posted a petition to help a veteran who is being shafted by the Navy (he gave 34 years of service). There is an important meeting on October 16/17 and Tommy wants to present this petition of support for Chris to the brass, with the hope his case can be properly reviewed and remedied. He cares about veterans, as do many Canadians. I don’t really give a crap if you are offended by these appeals for help.
You are not obligated to sign any petition, yet, you gripe, and gripe, and gripe some more. I’m calling it an OCD tick as you can’t seem to control it!

I have no idea what you are referring to in your post, “So is Buzz the new megaphone?”
commented 2017-10-14 04:14:42 -0400
How do I have OCD? I am just responding to the rebel about their infinite petitions.

So is Buzz the new megaphone?
commented 2017-10-13 20:59:09 -0400
Space Moose, OCD ticks can be treated!
commented 2017-10-13 20:51:33 -0400
If you want to find the motive look at the target/victims – these were red state rock-ribbed republicans – Perhaps the culprits and motive are being buried to prevent backlash.
commented 2017-10-13 20:25:13 -0400
Oh come on. Just this week the rebel was back bombarding us with petitions again. I come here for the news. Not to give away my money or my e mail address.

It is ujust a matter of time before the new person is pressured to start petitions. Caoloan Robertson was right about the petitions.
commented 2017-10-13 20:17:06 -0400
Finally the other side is now having to defend itself.
commented 2017-10-13 18:41:54 -0400
Space Moose, you seem to have an OCD tick!
commented 2017-10-13 18:22:54 -0400
Lets see how long Kristin can go before she has to start asking us to sign a petition.
commented 2017-10-13 15:51:56 -0400
Drexel U should really fire this deranged professor before he inspires one of his students to carry out his wishes.
commented 2017-10-13 14:49:59 -0400
The description stated; But unfortunately, at many universities, students are spoon-fed liberalism from the moment they step foot onto campus until they receive their diplomas.

I think this statement is incorrect, it should read; Children, as soon as they start Grade School are taught the joys of Marxism by the Marxist educational system. This continues on right through University and is the reason that there are so many idiots around, looking for jobs.
