Trudeau Liberals call The Rebel “hate inciting” in Public Safety report — but won't reveal why

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Host | The Gunn Show

About a month ago, The Rebel was included in a Public Safety Canada report, drafted by Public Safety Canada's Center for Community Engagement and Prevention of Violence.

The report synopsis says:

“The Canada Center... was launched to provide national policy leadership, support local level initiatives, and coordinate action-oriented research countering radicalization to violence... The focus is on preventing the radicalization to violence of all kinds, regardless of where it originates.”

A contributor to this Public Safety Canada report suggested increased censorship for The Rebel as one of the government's “measures to prevent or suppress violence” suggesting “while focussing [sic] on educating Leaders, service providers who work with youth, also ensure better controls on Media (e.g. Rebel) and social media (Facebook & Twitter) & their hate inciting communications.”

My so-called “hate inciting communications” apparently include my ongoing access to information investigations into Liberal scandals and misspending.

We wanted to know how we came to be included in that Public Safety Canada report compiled by Ipsos. Who said this nonsense about us and who decided to include attempts to censor our mainstream conservative news and commentary outlet as a reasonable suggestion to prevent violence?

We asked the government to provide copies of all documents regarding the inclusion of The Rebel or The Rebel Media in the “The Canada Centre for Community Engagement and Prevention of Violence - What we heard” report since January 1st, 2019.

And magically they have no documents. According to bureaucrats, “a thorough search was conducted and Public Safety Canada was unable to locate any records responding to your request.”

The report cites a contributor's quote verbatim. How can the selection of that quote attacking us have no paper trail?

Was the quote completely made up by the authors of Public Safety Canada's report or are the bureaucrats responsible for it now obscuring how and why they selected it?

Either way, it looks like Public Safety Canada is more concerned with keeping the Liberals safe from our scrutiny than keeping the public safe from real threats.

They waste time on that while gangs & shootings, & now shootouts, run in our streets. Wow

Having read the comments, I must concur – SUE THE BASTARDS!

I’m a paid subscriber, I am therefore directly slandered by the Trudeau Liberal government in that document…I want my pound of flesh…although I will settle for someone tearing a strip off Jihadi-Justin-Groper – of about a pound in weight…

Seems like nothing short of libel. Quite actionable. Defamation at the minimum. Might even create violence against The Rebel Media, its staffers and supporters.

Not likely Stephen…the men’s movement tried that against Status of Women and their academic collegues….the court ruled that there was indeed slander and that their “policy research” was deplorable and unprofessional….but awarded no financial penalty…

The message to both parties was politics is a rough game and the courts are not going to call foul over strident assertions no matter how unfounded.

Status of Sheila’s? Good one… In Ireland, the Status of Colleens? In Latin America, the Status of Chika’s… All joking aside, litigation sounds like the way to go and I would back such a move. As for me (a Rebel Supporter), this slight only helps us to illustrate/prove the mindset of the people we are dealing with. It’s their MO. I don’t get worked up about it, but instead remember, and (in time), get even. Now, let’s get down to business and absolutely destroy these arrogant Liberal fools this Fall…

Culture and Heritage Canada keeps an enemy list…they won’t release it under ATIPP citing privacy reasons…but it includes the McCarthy list that was the basis of the BCFATHERS lawsuit against Status of Women…

(I have often wondered if the Austrailian equivalent is Status of Sheilas)

Anonymous sources in a government document? Might as well say, “invented sources”. Shameful and misleading behaviour by our government bureaucrats and their elected overseers.

The government should recall all copies of the report and either redact The Rebel comment (accusation more accurately) or reprint without The Rebel reference removed. Also, make a public apology and correction in print and online.

Maybe sue the government, the department, and the minister. Ask for what the CBC gets: $1.6 billion. Maybe not, How about 16 million as $1 million for damages and $15 million punitive. Less expensive than what the government paid out to just two terrorists.

Glad to see this. We can’t let any of the lies pass. They shouldn’t be allowed to get away with this sort of character assassination.

Another example of Liberal tyranny.

This deliberate act of defamation by the Government of Canada against The Rebel Media should be litigated! Not only have they accused The Rebel of preparing “hate inciting communications” that they have linked to inciting violence they are also defaming every Rebel member and reader as a radical likely to be involved in violence. This is a disgusting display of dictatorial/authoritarian attitude prevelamt in the current Trudeau regime!
I take fervent umbrage with such a manufactured and unproven attack upon The Rebel and it’s members and readership.
Hold the Liberal Government of Canada to account for their biased and unfounded accusations!

Indeed. An out of all the groups and organizations involved in “radicalization” they only find an example in The Rebel? It is to laugh.

Can any of you think of any other groups who have a more pronounced propensity pan- planetwise to persuade people to propound passionate and pugnacious positions on using powerful physical phorce on the public ?

All of which tells you this has nothing to do with ending violence. It is another cynical Liberal ploy to shut down voices they don’t want the public to hear. Especially before an election.

Sunny ways!

More evidence that Leftists want to believe and promulgate lies. Why do you suppose that is?

Remember to the Trudeau liberals any thing even remotely resembling the truth or honesty is called “hate speech”

Is this not actionable? It’s a pretty clear-cut case of defamation, from what I can see. The Minister responsible, the authors of the document itself, the un-named source (which would probably appear if pressure was applied); all could be held responsible, legally, for a published government document that identifies a known person or group and connects that person or group with negative connotations that could and likely has measurable financial consequences for those people or groups. This crosses all the t’s and dots all the i’s, doesn’t it? It’s one thing for the government to pass legislation that makes businesses like this harder to function, but it’s another thing altogether to slander them, and I see this as pretty slanderous. The same thing can be suggested when talking about individual political people (such as badly-dressed cabinet ministers, for example) saying nasty things about the Rebel, but this is an official government document, representing the Government of Canada and everyone in it. And it tells everyone in the world that the Rebel is somehow worthy of the label of “hateful” and “inciteful towards violence”, with no proof offered. I say go for the throat, force Trudeau or at least a cabinet member or two to offer public apologies.

I’m sure those bureaucrats are lying and covering up for their friends. I know the way things work in the federal government.

I also love your bangs, Sheila. Please keep that hair style.

The Silence of the Lambs…or…Go out and buy a Silencer….

One thing is certain. The Rebel must not be silenced even if we have to crowd fund the best lawyer in the land to fight for us. This Government is nothing more than a Dictatorship that has become to big for it’s boots and it needs to be taught a lesson on democracy.

Prime Minister Trudeau, if you wish to silence evil then I suggest that You send out your KBG Goons and gather up all copies of the Quran and burn them.
The Rebel dose not mandate the throwing of Gays from the tops of mountains, the Rebel dose not suggest that thieves should have one arm and one leg cut off from opposite sides. The Rebel dose not condone the killing of children as a method of birth control. The Rebel dose not state that a father should not have sex with his son before the boy is six years old.

A child can read The Rebel and not have nightmares, Mr Trudeau.

The Rebel has now been published in black and white.
How do you remove it?
They accomplished what they wanted to do, get the word out there labelling The Rebel.
This was no oversight.

I was born on a Thursday, but it wasn’t last Thursday. Doesn’t matter what day of the week you were born on.
