Publicly funded “hateful honkies” sponsor Ryerson’s “race-baiting” conference

David MenziesMission Specialist

I went to my old alma mater, Ryerson University, to get educated about purported special advantages inherent to caucasians at a white privilege conference being held there but a funny thing happened on my way to enlightenment when I was deemed persona non-grata and booted out!

If my skin tone grants me automatic special privilege, why was I given the bum’s rush?

In the end, they did us a favour by kicking us out. They spared us from the snooze-fest it surely was and gave us the opportunity to speak to numerous protesters gathered outside the venue.

For the record, I did try to get both sides of the story but many exiting the conference either didn’t want to talk to me or called me names!

I’m pretty much a free speech absolutist and if you want to run such an idiotic race-baiting conference, go for it, but why should taxpayers be on the hook for this racist rubbish?

…….you gotta change the whole darn system? A chill went down my spine. What a bunch of racists! Imagine being marginalized in your own country by some of our own who have been guilted into submission and weaponized against us as well as some we have invited into our country to join us.

So glad to see intelligent protesters. Thank God there are still some sane Canadians who will stand up against this poisonous race baiting identity politics.

No wonder they won’t talk. You embarrass them by pointing out their hypocrisy. How many of the Honky Cat presidents will resign to show solidarity with non-whites?

With apologies to Elton John:

They said, get back, honky cat
Better get to the back of the bus
Well, I quit those days and my privileged ways
And, ooh ooh ooh ooh, oh, change is gonna do me good

They said, get back, honky cat
Better burn your degrees
Well, I quit my pay and my privileged ways
And, oh oh oh oh, oh, change is gonna do me good

They said, stay at home, boy, you gotta tend your betters
Running the univeristy, boy, is going to break your heart
But how can you stay when your heart says no?
How can you stop when your feet say go?

David, you mean you didn’t pull a fire alarm on the way out?

Identity politics of the left.
The Web of Oppression taught in the socialist, er, sociology departments at the universities like Ryerson:
If you happen to have been born able-bodied, a male, and white and, as well. learned to speak English as a child, you are well on your way to being an oppressor with ‘white privilege’. What a bummer!

Right on David… As a fellow graduate of “Rye High’s” Journalism course (1967), I imagine that profs from my era, the likes of Ted Schrader and Dick Lunn are turning over in their graves… Back in those days Ryerson was disparaged for not being the “country club” school like Western or Carleton, but we did actually have the best journalism course in Canada… Indeed, how times have changed and the school – obviously – along with it…
