Muhammad Ali left Toronto some four years ago to join ISIS in Syria, and from social media posts, we know among other things that he openly cheered the murder of Nathan Cirillo in Ottawa, and has recruited others to join ISIS too.
Global News reports Ali was captured by Kurdish-led forces a few months ago and the authorities would like to send him and about a dozen or so other Canadian ISIS fighters and their bored wives and children, back home!
The RCMP is reportedly struggling with what sort of criminal charges – if any – can be laid against Canada’s version of Jihadi Jack.
Well, until recently, we did have a tailor-made solution for someone like Ali, originally from Pakistan, in the form of a law put in place by the Harper Conservatives.
But that law was amended when the Trudeau Liberals formed government because according to Justin, “a Canadian, is a Canadian, is a Canadian.”
Justin can’t even call these people terrorists, or militants and has in fact referred to Canadians who go abroad to commit terror as “foreign travellers.”
Canada has some choices to make when it comes to people like Ali and his odious ilk because giving them the kid-glove treatment as Trudeau does, is only going to embolden future homegrown jihadis and our enemies abroad.
