“Why is nuclear NEVER in the ‘green’ discussion? Solar and wind are completely inefficient and unsustainable. "

Because of the waste that is created by nuclear production. But the hypocrisy in their green rantings is that they avoid mentioning the toxicity of the metals in the production of solar and turbine farms as well as a hazard to wildlife/human life once erected. Neither nuclear, solar, or wind is “green” but that doesn’t stop the Libtards’ narrative.

Interesting how after the big hubbub on this topic in Ontario vanished into the dark corners of the outgoing Liberal files, people should be concerned.

Andrew, you are spouting garbage again."

How so? Do you feel nuclear plants are somehow cheap, and that they’ve already reached high economy of scale?

Or that we don’t have a lot of hydro that we could use to back up other renewables with?

Or are you just being contrary for no reason other than to be contrary?

Solar panels and windmills have to be manufactured. Manufacturing plants need to be powered. The material from which solar panels and windmills are manufactured needs to be mined or produced…. more energy required again. Three cheers for fossil fuels, nuclear and hydro.

Why is nuclear NEVER in the ‘green’ discussion?”

Cost, mostly, but there are also risk considerations. The supposedly cheaper reactor variants have never actually achieved the economies of scale to reduce their costs.

In Canada at least we have enough hydro to back up “renewables” efficiently.
