As first reported by David Akin, Justin Trudeau is ordering Canada’s banks to hand over the complete, personal records of half a million citizens to the government, without a search warrant.
What’s so incredible here is that this was being done secretly. The proposal is secret. And the data will be swept up secretly. No search warrant. No probable cause. You didn’t have to do anything wrong. You were just “chosen” to be the lucky one — and you won’t know; and your bank will not be able to tell you.
This program is set to begin in January.
I've decided we need to do something about this, so I'm consulting a privacy lawyer to sue Justin Trudeau and his Privacy Commissioner.
