Rebel Roundup: Guests Sheila Gunn Reid, Ezra Levant & Ben Davies

David MenziesMission Specialist

Every Friday evening on Rebel Roundup, we get together with other Rebel contributors to review the week's headlines, from the serious to the absurd.

Settle in and enjoy!

* Hey, guess which party has the biggest war chest for next year’s federal election? Well, it’s the Media Party, of course, thanks to more than half a billion dollars in Liberal welfare.

Rebel Commander Ezra Levant serves up all the gruesome details.

* When it comes to crossing the Canada/U.S. border, there’s apparently an unofficial new rule in 2018: Makers are inconvenienced, while Takers – i.e., irregulars – receive 24/7 concierge service!

Sheila Gunn Reid drops in to explain all.

* The latest Fantastic Beasts movie is a progressive panacea. So why are the progressives panning this flick? Well, it’s not progressive enough!

Ben Davies weighs in on this latest unintentional comedy.

* And finally, letters. Tonight, I’ll share some of the letters we received regarding my report on the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty that was protesting... um, something... last weekend.

Keith, having a majority government does not allow Trudeau……..
~~~~
I understand what you are saying George but besides the majority government he also has a majority in the Senate. Trudeau plays dirty he is not above having a word in the ear of his Senators and hustling them up a bit. Twelve months is long time to talk.
Keith, having a majority government does not allow Trudeau to change the Canada Elections Act, without approval by Parliament and the passage of any such change through the Senate. As well, with the election less than a year away, there is not sufficient time for him to have Elections Canada put in place a new voting system.. I don`t trust Trudeau on many issues but I will not lose sleep over having non-citizens voting Liberal or for any other Party in the Federal Election in 2019.
More OFF TOPIC.
By Aubrey Allegretti and Greg Heffer, political reporters
Nigel Farage will launch an effort to oust UKIP leader Gerard Batten following his appointment of far-right figure Tommy Robinson.
Mr Farage, who previously led UKIP in three different spells, condemned Mr Batten for dragging the party in a “shameful direction”.
Since becoming leader in February, Mr Batten has seen a series of high-profile figures quit UKIP amid criticism of the party’s anti-Islam messages.
He has now prompted a new row by controversially naming English Defence League founder Tommy Robinson, real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, as his adviser on rape gangs and prison reform.
OFF TOPIC
Theresa May has just given the UK to the Marxist EU. She has just agreed to every thing the EU wanted including another 10B Pounds Sterling, making a total of 39B Pounds Sterling. In addition, as a bonus, she has thrown in Gibraltar, against the will of its citizens. The Rock has gone. GB will still be under EU Law and cannot make Trade Deals with other countries without the EU’s permission and the deals must be accepted by the EU first, adding their own Tariffs at the same time….Before The final deal is signed the EU will have to study and review it, a process that they have 30 years to do so and when that 30 years times out it can be renewed for another 30 years…..Perpetuaty?
Fortunately, all of this has to pass through the Brit parliament first and the Labour Party has come on side with the Brexiteer’s. There is still hope and lots of dirty tricks ahead.
Paul, I probably dislike Trudeau as much as you do but even the Prime Minister can not change voting regulations to allow non citizens to vote.
George, The fact that Liberals hold the Majority, makes this a none problem for them.
George, Hillary got 2-4 million extra voted by letting Mexican illegals vote in the LA area. No ID necessary.
When Trump came to office, he wanted to make an up-to-date voters list as millions were either dead or illegal. The States refused, saying it was private information.
Trudeau would do almost anything criminal to win; he is the only PM to break the Ethics Laws 4 times so far. Hillary taught him well.
Even television series have become more “progressive”. I tried watching Murphy Brown and within the first 10 minutes, it was disgusting in that the script had nothing but contemp for conservatives. I changed channels. Same with Madam Secretary. I love Tea Leone but again, it’s becoming very political. I’m still watching but I don’t know for how long.
Paul, I probably dislike Trudeau as much as you do but even the Prime Minister can not change voting regulations to allow non citizens to vote. If Trudeau said what you attribute to him he is totally wrong and can not make it happen without a change in voting laws passed by Parliament.
Well Derek Williams, those are two possible scenarios, however since most journalists in Canada are already left leaning, I doubt they will have to be convince much to comply, especially if their pay check could be on the chopping block.
And as for the executives of the National Post and the Sun are concerned, free money is free money. The moral ethics of honest reporting is probably not much of a concern weighted against the need to meet payroll and pay the bills.
However, I hope you are right and some vestige of moral integrity peeks out from behind the Trudeau bribery.
I can see this media bailout backfiring on the liberals. Say the National Post and the Sun newspapers are not “trusted” therefore they make a continuous stink regarding their freedom of speech being denied until the liberals relent and/or a lawsuit is launch deeming denial of this bailout funding unconstitutional. Or if these two media outfits are given the bailout money but decide to bite the hand that feeds them as an exercise in free speech and said liberals threaten to cut-off funding support. This too will likely result in a lawsuit regarding freedom of speech as above. The end result is bad press for Trudeau’s liberals just as the elections are coming around. I wonder if they thought out all of these angles. Too late now.
Off topic, did anyone hear that a US Federal judge dismissed charges against two doctors and others involved in a female genital mutilation case. The judge stated the US FGM law was unconstitutional.
You have to hear the defense attorney. Says it’s a huge victory.
Paul Mccullogh, I am totally against the illegal border crossers ……..
~
George, Trudeau has openly stated that all Muslims, Citizens or not, will be permitted to vote at the next elections.
We are dealing with a brain dead, effing, moron here, with illusions of grandeur.
commented 2018-11-23 23:35:27 -0500
Paul Mccullogh, I am totally against the illegal border crossers and questionable asylum seekers but to claim they are going to vote Liberal is just plain false.
Only Canadian citizens who have proof of their status can cast a ballot in a Federal election. Your contention that every illegal immigrant is a Liberal vote weakens your ant-government argument and adds little to the discussion on legitimate problems with illegal immigration.
commented 2018-11-23 23:15:49 -0500
Meanwhile where is Scheer? He needs to be tabling a bill stating that all media outlets, when covering politics must, honestly, give all sides of the story, Left, Right and Center.
Wonder what Trudeau would have to say about that. Let us see the grubby little Liberals vote that one down.
Canadian / American Boarder; “Can I carry your bags, Sir”?
Mexico / US Boarder, “If anyone makes it over the top. Shoot the bastards”.
President Trump has issued the Army orders to shoot if needed. (Source, ‘Red’ Sky News.)
- Anyone who takes this Liberal media buy out will have no credibility (except for those who had none before. For them it’s just another handout).
- Illegals are each counted as a Liberal vote – so they get treated like gold. The people who are citizens are just Canadians – so they get treated like garbage. Welcome to Trudeau’s Canada.
- It looks like JacKass Rowling discovered that her leftist pals will eventually turn on their own. I couldn’t have been funnier.
Is there a stupidity contest on somewhere? Those lunatic leftists sure are trying to win first prize. What could it be that makes them so desperate? Is it a perpetual motion machine or the formula to turn gold into lead? How about the world’s most frustrating invention? It’s a stick with a broom on one end and a dust pan on the other. Sumething sure has them all worked up and excited.
I wonder if the media members realize they are spending their sons and daughters future away, probably to busy toasting the new cash cow ripe for milking.
