Here are three stories you probably didn’t see in the mainstream media this week.
Thoughts and Prayers:
In the wake of the tragic shooting in a Texas church that left 26 people dead and more wounded, the left scoffed at Americans who offered thoughts and prayers for those affected.
CNN's Don Lemon was just one of the celebrities and pundits who seized the opportunity to mock Christianity as a whole.
Ironically, the very people who pride themselves on being “tolerant” seem to be the same ones who love to mock Christianity and prayer.
The DNC is falling apart:
A new CNN poll shows that a majority of Americans now have an unfavorable view of the Democratic Party. Only 37 per cent said they view the Democratic Party favorably. No wonder: Last week former DNC head Donna Brazile revealed that the DNC handed over control of the party to the Hillary Clinton campaign.
The young Democratic voters who'd supported Bernie Sanders now have even less reason to trust the party's establishment.
Despite this new poll, Democrats saw some wins this week. But the left shouldn’t get too comfortable. Their unfavorability ratings should serve as a wakeup call to the leaders of the Democratic Party, who continue to be in denial about why they lost the 2016 election.
Jesse Jackson accused of harassment:
Civil rights "hero" Jesse Jackson has been accused of sexual harassment by a journalist. Danielle Young claims that Jackson grabbed her thigh and made a crude comment during a “meet and great” event for black journalists. (A representative for Jackson said in a statement that he “does not recall” the event.)
This is only the latest in a string of disturbing sexual harassment and assault allegations plaguing the entertainment, news, and political industries.
Celebrities and left-wing political leaders love to rant against President Donald Trump and portray him as a womanizer. Sure, Trump's comments in the 2005 tape are lewd. But they certainly don't come close to actual sexual assault.
If they are unwilling to point out bad behavior when it comes from their own side, then their criticisms of Trump and other conservatives lose validity.
