Reconciliation or vengeance? “Dead white guys” pay posthumous price for residential schools

Barbara KayRebel Contributor

Some Canadian aboriginal activists think the $60M Truth and Reconciliation Commission just wasn’t enough for their liking.

Staffed with 75 people, 48 of them aboriginal, which allowed our nation to hear and empathize with the testimonies of 6,000 former residential school students, didn’t result in enough “reconciliation” for their liking.

So they’re taking their self-righteous wrath out on dead white Canadian men in their eternal resting places.

Excellent commentary. Very honest and very UN politically correct.
I could not agree more with all of your points, well done.

Enough is enough now.

Unfortunately for activist lobbyists, their tunnel vision only allows them to see one way

Oh, and for what it’s worth, I really appreciate the clear, precise and measured enunciation that BARBARA KAY brings to all her pieces.

Has anyone ever seen the Chinese or the blacks or the natives or God forbid Islamic’s ever go out of their way with their time and resources to adopt a white child and give it a better life.??

If white people were such racists then why would they adopt children from China and give them a better life…? If white people were such racists why would they adopt black children from all over the African continent and the Middle East and give them a better life…? If white people were such racists why would they adopt children from Korea and give them a better life…? If white people were such racists why would they adopt children from from India and give them a better life…?

If white people were such racists why would they adopt Latino children and give them a better life…? If white people were such racists why would they adopt North American Indian children and give them a better life…?
The truth is white people are not racist and we’ve proven that time and time again with the outpouring of our generosity to countries around the world who have suffered catastrophic event either through war or natural causes. I have yet to see any of the people from the various continents and countries listed above that ever I repeat ever adopt white children and give them a better life… No more racist cards to be played against the whites..

“Presentism”
A new term to me – but I’ve been describing it for years.

The relentless pissing and moaning, hands-out, entitlement/victimhood, posturing BS, along with this so-called reconciliation crap, has just about pushed this once sympathetic white guy over the edge of tolerance!
If you Indians who keep squawkin’ about how bad it is here in Canada don’t like it, you’re welcome to go back to your ancestral homelands in Asia and back to the old days as ‘noble savages’…and don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

One of these days, some future leftist will desecrate all the rebel tombstones.

Good piece. I would add that many native leaders supported residential schools.
As well, one should (to avoid presentism) remember that religious indoctrination and rampant corporeal punishment were the norm across the entire (non-native) school system.
Cultural genocide is a ridiculous concept. Cultures constantly change. Old ways get swept aside. The Internet is causing a cultural transformation; do we mourn the pre-Internet era.
The recent residential school horror show was a protracted campaign by sections of the media and the federal government aimed at mobilising and emboldening Aboriginals to make ever-greater claims of sovereignty and entitlement.
On my website: www.ecofascism.com there are three collections of articles on Aboriginal Supremacism.

Great piece Barbara!!

Today, it doesn’t seem bad to those same ppl to rip kids away from their fathers via Family Court, and said children suffering all the same symptoms as the Native kids, despite the fact sole custody is against the law in Canada, as it’s contrary to the HRA.

And worse, now Wynn wants to seize children if their parents don’t go along with their temporary experiment in transgenderism!!

We’re just as bad today. We’ve learned nothing!! The Left especially, has nothing to climb on their high horse about!!

Thank you, Barbara, for articulating what I consider to be exactly the right view of this whole Truth and Reconciliation business. Retroactively demonizing those who were thought to be in the right in their own day accomplishes nothing in our time except to make the demonizers look petty and vindictive.

We can’t undo history. The best we can do is to try to learn from history so as not to make the same mistakes again in future. That alone is incredibly hard for most people.

Billy Howard got that right , this is like the Nazis putting new Swastikas at dig sites claiming they were there all along.

Was it ever anything else other than a vengence trip with an opportunistic shake down attached?

Don’t think so – it built a multi billion dollar victimhood industry staffed mostly with white upscale lawyers and lobbyists

I wonder what they will be saying, a hundred years from now, about our current situation. Probably not a lot, in one hundred years from now, all our thinking will be done for us by the local Imam.

Perhaps we need to change the course of the future. Now.

The residential school system was dreamed up by so called “progressives” of the day. Miss named “liberals”. And who do they now vote for?

Thanks Barbara Kay. We live in strange times, where even stranger decisions are made without considering the bigger picture.

You are so right, but it’s impossible for the new SJW to see different sides of history.

For some reason they do not give a damn about their men killing their women or the Chiefs oppressing them and keeping them down. But whatever floats your boat, you want to keep on being a victim, sometimes you are a victim of yourself.
