Canadian health care is collapsing, and the fix might hurt a little

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Host | The Gunn Show

Is an aging population and our bad lifestyle choices about to hit Canada's healthcare system like a tidal wave? How do we get out in front of it and improve the quality of care Canadians receive?

Those are serious questions facing Canadian politicians. Unfortunately, the only answer politicians from all sides of the spectrum have to those questions is to do more of the same: throw as much money as we can at a failing system.

Despite the constant influx of taxpayer cash, healthcare wait times are as long as they've ever been and more and more Canadians are traveling to the United States to seek timely, efficient and quality care for what ails them.

Will we ever do something different? My guest tonight hopes so.

Stephen Skyvington is the author of a new book called “This May Hurt a Little: Reinventing Canada’s Healthcare System.” In his book, he identifies some serious challenges Canada's changing demographics are presenting for politicians. Skyvington also debunks some commonly held myths about the Canada Health Act and our so-called single tier system.

He joins me tonight from his home in Cobourg, Ontario.

Enforced Euthanizing at the age of sixty five would solve the problem! If you doubt this, just ask Trudeau, he is already drooling just at the thought of it.

And if you have HIV or AIDS or STD’s then change your sexual habits and teach others to do the same!!! Do not whine because you are not getting enough proper treatment! Change your lifestyle!! My taxes should not be paying for your irresponsibility and depravity!!!

Let’s face it – Canadians drink too much, eat too much, smoke too much, use substances too much, sit in front of the tv too much, are too lazy to exercise 30 minutes a day. I eat responsibly, maintain a good level of fitness through regular strenuous exercise, don’t smoke or do substances, and have not had a drink in 35 years.
Can someone tell me why MY taxes should pay for THEIR health care? I stay fit and healthy so that I can have a good quality of life and so that my taxes can be used in the health care system to help those who have an illness or injury that is largely not their fault, or cancer patients, or the elderly, or babies born with problems, etc.
If you have lung cancer from smoking, sorry – step to the back of the line!! If you are not recovering from illness because you drink, sorry – no more treatment. If you have diabetes because you are overweight, sorry – lose weight or you are off the gravy (no pun intended) train!?
I think we need a MAJOR revamping of priorities by our whole population. That would improve conditions on this issue! Unfortunately people are selfish. As long as that is the case things will not improve.

CPC should send several MPs to his Concordia seminar in anticipation of a CPC gov’t. Potential health-related ministers and associates should be chosen by Scheer to attend.

I nominate Kyle James as the first "volunteer"for his brilliant solution to the health care scenario…..let us know how that works out for you.The euthanasia will be conducted on a (lack of) IQ basis…..so you will be pleased to know that you are at the head of the class.
He /she /they have also gained membership in the John Wick / James Risdon Buffoon Club.

Everyone ends up a drain on the system at some point so why don’t we go Pol Pot now and eliminate the problem before it becomes a problem. Funny how Kyle encapsulates the heart and soul of our oh so compassionate Leftists and he actually spouts it off. Every solution is the same – killing people- usually our own.

And no doubt he is in favour of the fake refugee influx that puts more of a drain on our system from those who will never contribute. The TO hotels are full of them. Now the government plan is to spread them round a bit. Mandatory no doubt.

Socialist Utopia is always just one more state sanctioned execution away.

The Germans were way ahead of him on this file. It actually started before WWII in the Weimar republic although most people associate it with the NAZIs.

Yes Kyle would kill off the last of our WW2 hero,s that fought for his him,as they are a drain on the system. I,m sure he would also have euthanized wheel chair bound people like Stephen Hawking…………..

Kyle James said, “Mandatory euthanasia would solve that problem. Only question is what age to enforce it? 90? 95? Really, at that point you’re just a drain on the system.”

So you support state sanctioned murder?

How about we hire 10,000 in immigration enforcement and immigration judges to hear cases via video conference BEFORE the fakugees cross the border illegally.
The 10,000 officers to round up the fakugees and deport them back to the country of origin be that the US or any other. These people will be easy to find as they will all be on welfare records. The countries the refuse to take their people back cancel all visas and travel to Canada.
The use of emergency services as a walk in clinic must stop.

Kyle James : “Mandatory euthanasia…….” With this and other suggestions and comments you have made on previous threads…..you could lead the way by volunteering……

Taking in tens of thousands of fakeugees is one of the factors that is depleting the resources that the health care system requires.
Many of the fakeugees arrive with serious health issues and some with even worse mental issues.
Remember the guy with Trudeau at a gay pride parade in TO? Story is that this guy was a recent arrival and is afflicted with AIDS.
The estimated cost of treatment over his lifetime is expected to exceed $1,000,000. Guess who pays!
In Gatineau this week, some people are being treated for Hepatitis A. Seems they contracted the disease from a kid in grammar school. I’ll bet the kid is a recent arrival.

Looks like one of the political solutions is euthanasia!

Keep bringing more and more immigrants to suck it dry!

What’s going to wipe out the treasury is mass immigration. Our health care system as it stands will collapse while Justin continues to send money to the third world to fund theirs. That math definitely won’t work. I don’t think that healthcare catastrophe is going to take as long as 20 or 30 years. Stephen Skyvington is right when he says our system needs reinventing. People are going to have to demand a more holistic approach and it seems to me they might have a better chance of obtaining change if the provinces could take full control and responsibility for making things work.

Big pharma and unions will be big hurdles.

The main parties look to be staying with the status quo but the Peoples Party of Canada and Max Bernier want to:
“Create the conditions for provincial and territorial governments to innovate. They will be fully responsible for health care funding and management, and fully accountable to their citizens for the results, while Ottawa will respect the Constitution and stop meddling.”

See link below for details on funding and rolling it out for provinces to take full control.

What a frightening show this was tonight. I hope your guest will be able to start the snowball rolling so we won’t have a health care catastrophe in 20 or 30 years.

Funny how the stupid socialist’s want to kill the energy sector but want free healthcare, dental, and education. The energy sector is the main contributor to Canada’s economic engine and with out it how are these foolish morons planning to pay for all this. Socialist’s must be growing some of those money trees sprinkled with lots of fairy dust!!!
