Report on CBC, Jian Ghomeshi released but "there are still more victims out there"

Brian LilleyArchive

The report on sexual harassment at the CBC is finally out, but it's not the whole story. There are more victims out there. I know. I've talked to them.

Every corporate culture takes its cues from the top.

At the top of the CBC sits Hubert Lacroix.

Maybe this situation could have been dealt with sooner if he wasn't so arrogant.

Back in 2013, based on a tip, I filed a FOI request about sexual harassment at the CBC.

One of the documents quoted a staffer as saying, "There are too many cases. I'm getting them mixed up in my mind."

At the time, Lacroix waved off my findings and accused me of hunting up "innuendo."

Is it realistic to think that this same man will finally clean up the CBC's corrupt culture?

Sexual harassment at work…the CBC tries hard to bury the story… for example CBC radio (Apr18 ) said Duffy was a formerly associated with CTV and Ezra Levant, but failed to mention Duffy is also a former employee of CBC.

I remember Kostas Halabrazos interviewing a CBC executive who had come to the Maritimes to explain about the shutting down or shortening some of the best regional programmes. The executive knew nothing about this region, and Mr. Halabrazos had difficulty being polite. The original mandate to connect the regions of our vast country has long been ignored. I never listened to Q, still don’t. Radio Two started out reasonably well, but almost immediately began to deteriorate—a pity really.

Brian, on the one hand, I want to say, keep digging, for Canada’s sake. But on the other hand, I shudder to think what we will find out if you do. What secrets does the billion-dollar-a-year bailout CBC yet harbor? I suspect it will shock Canadians to the core when the truth comes out. But be that as it may, come out it must, for Canada’s sake, so please keep digging for the truth with FOI requests, without which it will stay hidden.

Brian I said it then and I say it again – Hubert Lacroix is an arrogant, two faced liar.
With people like him and Heather Conway in charge there is no way the CBC will ever get cleaned up, it will remain the cesspool that it is until these two are gone.

Claude, no face lift is going to help the old hag that is the CBC, besides facelifts can be expensive, and I don’t want one more penny of mine going to keep her. I grew up on the CBC. Its mandate was to represent Canadians from all corners of this vast country, and it used to, in its own unique Canadian way. In trying to keep up with the times, it has become a nasty taxpayers money eating dragon lady, mouthpiece of the left’s aganda 21. Its world is very small and twisted these days, and speaks for a small minority only. It can’t compete with the changing climate of broadcasting, is holding on by the short hairs, and expecting us to still keep it afloat. Ghomeshi is just one nail in the coffin.

I truly like ‘Mother Corp.’, but since Ghomeshi has definitely “left the building” last October, I now wish that the CBC would become privatized as most TV and radio stations in the western world. The worst story was that Ghomeshi appeared so charismatic, so ambivalent in so many subjects, and such a marketable commodity who has now joined the heap of former TV/radio celebrities who have quickly become a bunch of disgraced nobodies. Strangely enough, I some- times felt that his act was too well-rehearsed. Franky-speaking, the CBC needs a slight make- over. The “beauty queen” is increasingly starting to age.

Given that the CBC is an organization that supports and defends Ontario’s radical sex-ed programs with headlines like, “Ontario’s new sex ed curriculum ‘the most up-to-date’ in the country” is anybody surprised what happens within such a culture?

Ask yourself why sexual deviants against children get off so easily with very light sentences if any sentence at all?

There is more to this than meets the eye. Sexual deviancy runs deep in MANY circles. They’re even ritualized, against women, against children…the ones that get caught are the scapegoats, but we haven’t even scratched the surface.
