A Republican senator and governor hopeful isn't backing down from comments he made about George Soros.
Scott Wagner spoke with The York Daily Record on Monday and said people are overreacting to his comments. “Everybody's getting their knickers around their ankles over this and there's no reason for that,” he said.
His comments on Soros were called “anti-Semitic” by Democrats because he pointed out that Soros is “a Hungarian Jew”.
Fox News reports, however, that Wager insisted that if Soros had been Catholic he would have called him a Hungarian Catholic and that he meant no offense with his comments. He added that he has a long history of donating to the local Jewish Community Center.
