International Trade Minister Chrystia Freeland used to live the high life as a minor media celebrity in the U.S. making frequent appearances on all the best left-wing American media outlets like MSNBC and Real Time with Bill Maher.
For a while after getting elected, she did more interviews in the U. S. than she did in Canada.
And it appears that she really misses the attention.
Freeland recently billed Canadian taxpayers $20,000 for a vanity trip to Los Angeles to go see her buddy Bill Maher.
Due to the way her latest appearance came about and all of the hurdles her staff had to jump through to get her from Manilla to Los Angeles, it captured the attention of the opposition. She was of course questioned and the Liberal response was that she was already there on business and decided to stop in for old time’s sake.
Well, now we have documents obtained through a freedom of information request that show this isn’t even close to true and Freeland owes us all a refund.
Watch my video for the details.
Look, if Freeland wants to go on Real Time with Bill Maher, I don’t care. All I ask is that she do it in a way that doesn’t cost taxpayers an extra $20,000 for her vanity flights, that doesn’t require already pricey staff to work over-time and doesn’t require the Minister to lie.
