Salim Mansur on his new book, “The Qur'an Problem and Islamism: Reflections of a Dissident Muslim”

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

Universities are overflowing with far-left academics ignoring the threat of radical Islam, Professors like Salim Mansur who speak out against the politically correct establishment are rare and it's why we're recommending everyone read his new book The Qur'an Problem and Islamism: Reflections of a Dissident Muslim.

Salim's book explores the ways Islamist regimes have used twisted interpretations of the Qur'an to legitimize their authority and enforce the text as law. He explains how the government's in Iran and Saudi Arabia, and terrorist organizations like the Taliban, Al Qaeda, and ISIS have brutally forced their interpretations onto the rest of the Muslim world.

The West is has become increasingly hesitant to criticize Islamism, last year the Trudeau Liberals passed an anti-blasphemy motion banning speech critical of Islam. Make sure you read Salim's book before it's banned next!

One year later and with the advent of Salim’s candidacy for the Peoples Party of Canada I am still checking him out. Trying to understand Islam over the past five or six years(because it wasn’t even on my radar before then) has been a real learning curve for me. Even one year ago I didn’t completely trust Muslims like Salim Mansur or Tarek Fatah, Raheel Raza or even Imam Tawhidi, although I knew they were different from the extremist or Sharia adherents. I didn’t think moderate, or reformist Muslim’s really existed. I have since grown to believe it. Every ex Muslim I talk to and follow, also seem to confirm this.

I do not for one minute think that Salim Mansur would ever turn on his adopted country of Canada and support political Islam here. He is dedicated to fighting it. He has been here over 30 years and written probably hundreds of articles on the difference between Islam and Islamists or political Islamism, which is the danger to the west. His writings are there for all to read, many decades of them.

I found this again looking for a few links to highlight the kind of man Mansur really is and came across my comment of a year ago and had to amend it.

Thanks for that Liza Rosie… I agree with everything you have said… Fundamentally, for me, it boils down to this:- Is there any other religion in the world that practices or encourages Taquiyya to promote its ways??? For any “religion” to readily accommodate LYING to further itself tells me all I want to know about the “fundamental mindset” of all of its adherents… And that, evidently, hasn’t changed since the 7th. century…

I like Salim Mansur, and appreciate his allegiance to Canada, becoming Canadian, and actually assimilating respectfully. However, with all due respect I can’t agree with him on what he says about the Koran and Muhammad. Islam didn’t get political a scant 50 years ago, it has been a political theocracy since its inception and a violent one for almost as long. It didn’t start getting twisted with the interpretations of the Taliban, Al Qaeda, or ISIS. I can’t accept that. I have investigated several different interpretations of the Koran, by Imams, Ex Muslims, and ‘moderate’ Muslims, all Arabic speakers, different ones, not just one of each. Except for the moderates , the Fundamentalist Imams and Ex Muslim or apostates, seem to agree on many of the supremacist, authoritarian religious and totalitarian political methods, however consensus on specific nuances of many of the Surah’s seems almost impossible to achieve.

Islam is the most duplicitous, self serving, forked tongued, triple meaning-ed religiously political, slippery fish playbook ever to be brought into existence, which is exactly what makes it so dangerous. Moderates say it is really a peaceful religion, they pick and choose what looks and sounds friendly.
The Fundamentalists on the other hand generally give the most attention to the abrogated verses which are not quite so nice, but different groups put different nuances to the verses. These groups can’t even agree on which ones were abrogated let alone the meanings of the abrogated verses of which there are four categories.

I could be wrong but it sounds like Salim doesn’t believe in the abrogated verses at all? There are Muslims who don’t. Some moderates don’t. I may have to read his book to answer that and many other questions, the main one being, is the book just another bit of Islam propaganda from a well meaning Muslim. What is more complicated and potentially dangerous than Islam? Who could blame the west for not wanting to have to deal with it at all?

There will never be understanding enough for any western country to safely accept Islam as an equal culture and religion , or to be treated as such, as long as it remains a political, supremacist theocracy, hell bent on conquest, submission and conversion. Why would we want to?

The moderates say, “you’ll like it, it will be better for you”
The Fundamentalists say, " convert or die"
The apostates say ," Islam is a lie, and something to leave behind"
The globalist leftists say, “One world religion is easier to control, it may as well be Islam” Mekkan Peace or Medinan Jihad? Abrogation in Islam, a paper

Terry, I agree.
Our problem is not radical islam. It is orthodox islam. Why we would welcome this 5th column in is beyond me. Actually it isn’t. Here is the reason:
“The god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving..”

I do like Salim Mansur and enjoy his interviews with Ezra, however, I will not buy the book.

I won’t be buying a book that claims Islam has been twisted. Islam is twisted. It was twisted by Muhammad. It is a false religion with a false prophet.
