The Islamic Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has launched an investigation after a woman posted a video of herself wearing a mini skirt online.
The British state broadcaster reports that a model called "Khulood" shared the clip on Snapchat of her walking around a historic fort in Ushayqir.
Soon after, the video was picked up on Twitter and opinion was divided. Some Saudis admired her bravery, while others disapproved. Journalist Khaled Zidan wrote, “The return of the Haia [religious police] here is a must.”

On Monday, the Okaz newspaper reported that officials in Ushayqar had called on the provincial police to take action against the woman. Meanwhile, the religious police wrote on Twitter that they are aware of the video and are in contact with authorities.
Saudi Arabia's nonsensical value system has been mocked endlessly. Just recently the country censored a pool ad by turning a woman in a swimsuit into an inflatable ball.
Last year, a Starbucks in Saudi Arabia actually banned women after its gender segregation wall collapsed.
