Saudi "thugs" bully Quebecers who support tortured blogger Raif Badawi

Rebel Staff

It's bad enough that Saudi Arabian blogger Raif Badawi has endured hundreds of lashes for the "crime" of expressing himself.

Then last month, the Saudis sent a letter to the Speaker of the Quebec National Assembly, complaining that the province's media were writing about Badawi too sympathetically.

Canadians were warned not to "interfere" with the internal affairs of Saudi Arabia!

Of course, fascist Saudi thugs "interfere" in Canadian affairs all the time.

For one thing, they fund radical mosques in our country in order to spread ideas about Wahhabism, sharia law and even terrorism.

And you might remember how the Saudis tried to interfere with me and the NGO Ethical Oil a few years back, after we produced a commercial they didn't like.

Here's the scary part:

I wonder how else the Saudis interfere in Canadian affairs all the time, in ways we don't even know about.

Well then, I guess the sheep need to get our sheperds to tell the wolf to go take a hike. We don’t need their Tea, we have our own.

The shepherds are there to tend , feed and protect the sheep . The wolf came in the barns under sheep clothing and the shepherd never saw him coming . The sheep are let to themselves to the coming slaughter when the so call shepherds try to figure out what’s going on drinking their tea. The radical wolf association provide the tea bags to the Shepherds. The shepherds are mercenaries under shepherd clothing not interested about the sheep but what they can get ! their tea bags. Always know the ones who send you the tea bags and know the consequences of accepting them. It can cost you more then just enjoying your cup of tea. Make sure that the shepherd is there for the sheep not what he can get out of them . Mercenaries always look for their own goods and interests. This story is provided by the Global tea association where our " tea can buy anyone ".
good night.

It is a weird relationship alright. I’m trying to understand it. Historically the U.S. has used an air base there, which has been of huge strategic value for us. I have been trying to do some reading on it but really don’t have a handle. Its been going on way before Harper, so quit the bashing. Can anyone shed light?

I would like to think most civilized people would agree that radical islam has no place in the modern world. I would also like to think that most Canadians would find it abhorrent if their government became allies with any group or government that practiced or supported such beliefs. Unfortunately, Canada’s current relationship with Saudi Arabia says otherwise.

Time to wage war on islam…period. Lump the sympathizers in with the islamic extremists. No quarter shall be given. This is the only answer, the only question is when will the western world understand.

Also, the Harper government not that long ago had no problem selling this barbaric country billions of dollars of military equipment. Military equipment they’ll no doubt use to attack and suppress the rights of it’s own citizens. I guess freedom and human rights take a back seat when there’s a buck to be made as far as the Canadian government is concerned.

Our government, just like the United States, is in bed with Saudi Arabia. They want Saudi oil so they look the other way when Saudi Arabia commits horrible and barbaric acts. Torture, imprisonment and beheading innocent citizens, supporting and funding terrorists organizations. This behaviour by Saudi Arabia is no different than the likes of ISIS whom also act in the name of sharia law. However the difference is western countries are quick to condemn the actions of ISIS yet look the other way when similar actions are perpetrated by Saudi Arabia. Hypocrisy at it’s finest.

Another excellent, courageous report from Ezra. Thx.

The saudis are not our friends there is no doubt about that. Good on ya Ezra.

Its to bad eastern canadians don’t get how much we depend on Saudi’s oil, shame on them for not using western oil, but continue to be subservient to these thugs…

Money talks…Sweden politician questioned Saudi’s about women rights and they have cried fowl but they put the pressure on businesses by saying get her to apologize or loss your contracts.

Badawi was sentenced to 1,000 lashes and was given 50 on 9 January. After that, more was suspended for medical and other (outside pressure? Death of King Abdullah) reasons.

His lawyer and brother-in-law has also been imprisoned but the woman co-host of his website was pardoned by King Salman. Many hope that, with international pressure, King Salman might also commute Raif’s sentence. His case in currently in appeal.

Flogging in Saudi Arabia is disgusting but not as bad as in some countries like Malaysia where they tie the penitent to a post, bare naked the buttocks, and literally flay bloody flesh off right to the bone. In the surreptitious videos of Badawi’s ordeal, he is fully clothed and while his hands are bound, he is free standing.

I share Ezra’s concern that SA has too much influence, too much investment in Canada. But neither is SA immune to our influence. For so long as we and the rest of the world keep the heat on, SA is unlikely to continue to administer Badawi’s sentence.

Badawi’s wife and kids live in Quebec. She is a very vocal advocate for his interests. And there are plenty of petitions we can all find to sign. If we want to.

Good report! A1

Thanks for this report, Ezra. I hadn’t heard about the incident, but it isn’t surprising. Does any Government in any liberal democracy have the moral courage to sever diplomatic ties with Saudi Arabia? My guess is probably not. If no one has the moral courage to sever ties with a corrupt organization like the UN, why would anyone take the moral high ground and cut off diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia? At least until they recognize basic human rights. We get oil from Saudi Arabia, we can’t get a damned thing from the UN, and we still won’t sever ties with them. That’s too bad, wish it was different.

This is the kind of thing that caused my doctor to put me on blood pressure medication.

Yes Ezra, I remember them threatening you over that commercial, in fact, if I remember correctly, I believe those very same thugs successfully bullied CTV into not showing that same commercial.

Regardless of whether we love or hate CTV, they are a national broadcaster of news in our country, and my blood boils at the thought of any inside or outside interest controlling our news, let alone that it’s those savage Saudi Arabians.

It continues to be a mystery to me why we continue to toady to them.
So they’ve got oil, big deal.
So they buy stuff from us, big deal, who doesn’t?

We have lots of everything that the rest of the world wants and needs (although it would be nice if we could stop bickering among ourselves over things like where a pipeline should go for example, sometimes we’re like two fleas arguing over which one of us owns the dog, but I digress . . . take my medication George).

The point I’m trying to make is that, if we can tough it out through their feeble and shallow attempt at damaging our economy by having their sticky fingers on the big valve of OPEC oil flow, then we sure should be able to withstand any of their other bullying responses to any Canadians, be they ordinary citizens or elected leaders, who would openly express our disgust at their vile, reprehensible behaviour and the savagery of their pathetic, miserable and uncivilised culture.

A very good expose!

It wouldn’t surprise me if they did “an Obama” and try and interfere with our coming election so they can get their Wahabi loving friend, Trudeau in.

So I put it to you who do we support on this war against Isis Iran who wants to take over the world or Saudi who wants to take over the world hmmmmm
commented 2015-04-01 16:33:43 -0400
Ezra, you know you’ve made it when Saudi Arabia threatens to sue you and demands to speak to top Canadian officials about you. Yep, we can’t exactly call them friends.
