Scottish police detain YouTuber for “Hitler” pug prank

Jay FayzaRebel Columnist

Scottish YouTuber "Count Dankula" wanted to prank his girlfriend, so he taught her pug the least adorable thing you can teach a dog: Count Dankula taught the pug to do Nazi salutes every time he said, "Sieg Heil.

He made a video of his prank. Uploaded it onto YouTube. And, I presume, his girlfriend got a good laugh out of this prank.

Soon after the publication of the video, Count Dankula was detained by the police.

He remained in custody for publishing offensive material online, which I never knew was a crime in Scotland. Maybe in North Korea, Cuba, or Iran...

The snowflakes in the Scottish Council of Jewish Communities had the gall to tell the Daily Mirror that anti-Semitism is not a joke. They went to the media to voice their support for the arrest of someone who made a joke. As if we’re all children and they’re our parents.

Even if he went too far, he should have the right to say what he wants. Unless someone was physically harmed by this, he shouldn’t be arrested just because you’re offended.

I have a message for you, Scottish Council of Jewish Communities: Grow some humor.

And I have a message for you, Scottish police:

Why don’t you tackle real crimes?

Since 90% of my father’s family (parents, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins) were gassed, and since about 80% on my mother’s side were gassed or shot dead for being Jews, I find the “gas the Jews” not only stupid and insulting, but a symptom of missing morals of today. Just how low does one have to go to think something like this is actually funny?

I don’t find jokes about beheading Christians funny. I don’t appreciate a Jesus in a bottle of piss art or funny. I don’t find jokes about skin and bone Somalis amusing. I don’t find anything amusing or acceptable in jokes about the 60 million dead by Stalin, the 30 million dead by Mao, nor the 20 million dead by Hitler. I don’t see humour in the murder of 80 million Hindus by Muslims.

So, how would all those who think “gas the Jews” funny or acceptable would feel about rape jokes of their mother or grandmother, especially if it had happened? Jokes about dead military of their country? What about jokes about Christ on a stick? Jokes about killing off everyone of their racial group? How about hanging blacks jokes, like in the US in the 1920s? But “gas the Jews” seems to be quite acceptable and defendable to everyone here.

Speech may be free, but with all freedoms there are limits. You have the freedom of speech, but you can’t shout “fire” or “he has a gun” in a crowded theatre. You can’t make bomb or hijack jokes in an airport or on a plane. When your mother is buried, at the graveside no one will make jokes about her being missed at the whore house. And if you haven’t figured it out, “gas the Jews” is anti-Semitic no matter how you try to dress it up,

I’d say you’ve hit the nail on the head Jay, concerning Mr. Jewelryface, who at worst, has bad taste and an even worse sense of humour (as if Pugs weren’t ugly-looking enough); and who is also being victimized by the state – primarily – as an example to the rest of the sheep who would be intimidated and cowed by state victimization…and thus a precedent is set and self-censorship by a desired minimum number is achieved.
It’s funny how versions of this are appearing in all, once free and sovereign, Western nations.
In Canada it took less than 7 million ‘votes’ for Justin out of almost 36 million people – that’s less than 20 %…
Scary…

Oh, oh, my daughter taught her dog to “praise Jesus.” I’ll warn her not to post a video of it. I think it’s hilarious and so typical of her atheism. He sets back on his haunches and puts his front paws in front of his chest. The guy does use a shaky cue for the trick which he might have wanted to choose something less, “Oh no, did he just say that.” But the dog’s little trick was very cute and laughable.

I don’t like what he trained this dog to do; in very bad taste even for a prank. I don’t think the police should have detained him though.

I don’t think there was any crime here, even though teaching the dog to do this salute may have been in poor taste, if it offended someone that’s too bad. It is like, you’re watching TV, something on a show offends you, turn the show OFF. I think this guy is an idiot, why not have the dog trained to raise its paw when his girlfriends name is spoken or something of that nature. But no, a Nazi salute was in the forefront of this guys mind, that’s the best this genius could come up with. Sad at best and as he has learned, dangerous at the worst.

I don’t have any problem with free speech rights but I don’t find any humor in gassing Jews styled jokes. In this heightened political environment I am not sure what we are hoping to accomplish by giving our adversaries ammunition to smear us as racists. That being said I don’t think it should be illegal.

It would be better if the Scottish Humane Society got after him for teaching the pug a Nazi salute. That’s dog abuse in my view. It’s bad enough that people have to be involved in politics. He could leave animals out of human politics.

Another intolerant despotic reaction by authority and political reactionaries – gone is the doctrine of “reasonableness” in applying the rule of law – which is now extremist in its reactions and expectations – somebody needs to be sued or fined or fired here and it isn’t some lowbrow prankster – he showed bad taste – the people era soviet Russia who think bad taste is criminal belong in gulag-era soviet Russia, not in a liberal democratic free society.

A point well worth remembering and spreading, Timothy.

This is niggling, but at 2:30 Jay mentions the right to free speech should be granted to us. Rights aren’t granted by government, they pre-exist government. We just have to convince the government to observe them.
