With many left-wing athletes weighing in on “Trump's ban” of people from places with high amounts of Islamic terrorism, Sportsnet decided to ask Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri what he thought.
While Kadri's answers weren't as bombastic as other athletes, the fact he had to be asked for a statement shows his disinterest in the whole ordeal. And fans on Sportsnet's Facebook page made their opinions loud and clear.
“Born in London to parents who spent most of their lives in Canada and his parents country is not on the list. So why even ask naz this? It does not involve him. The guy just wants to play hockey,” the top-liked comment reads.
Another user took aim at Kathleen Wynne and Justin Trudeau, “This is Canada he is Canadian always has been so who cares. If you wanna get political ask him how he feels about Trudeau slowly destroying Canada or Wynne slowly bringing the homeless rate up in Ontario with all these ridiculous over charges. Let's just stick to sports,” Jamie Kozera wrote.
Two others wrote, “Obama had the same ban going at one point but nobody said anything because he's Obama. Obama also is responsible for the refugee crisis but nobody says anything because he's Obama. Obama's legacy IMO is the drone program which is borderline a war crime but again...he's Obama right?” and “Why does this even need to be a question. Who cares honestly? He's there to play a sport not talk politics. You can't let people held to "higher standards" have opinions. Kids look up to these people and will believe whatever is said to them by these guys/girls. All the media does is start a whole lot of drama and debate for no reason.”
SOUND OFF in the comments: how bad has it gotten when even the sports media tries to take on Donald Trump?
