If you’re like me, you’ve noticed how those on the left like to claim they’re supportive of women but then they start talking and reveal how they really feel about women.
Well, conservative women any way as in today's prime example from author, columnist and unhinged conservative hater Michael Harris who went after Rona Ambrose; not on policy, but for how she dresses.
"Rona Ambrose showed up in the House in something that resembled leather. She looked like the girl who fell for the leader of the pack down at the laundromat," Harris wrote in a recent column.
His fashion commentary came towards the end of a long, rambling rant which was short on facts but long on his hate for Stephen Harper and all Conservatives.
Harris, once a respected journalist and author is now mostly lauded by others who suffer from Harper Derangement Syndrome which is colouring his judgment so badly that he’s criticizing the woman that leads her Majesty's Loyal Opposition for the way she dresses!
Just imagine what would happen to me if I were to criticize a Liberal MP for how she dressed? I'd be denounced as a sexist pig amid calls to fire, banish, tar and feather me!
But of course I wouldn’t do that because I tend to focus on policy.
Politics is about policies so what matters to me is who has the right policies, who has the wrong policies and what those policies will mean in our lives.
Harris doesn't care about policies, and is more interested in personal attacks whether against Rona Ambrose or Scott Reid - basically, any Conservative.
Michael Harris should be ashamed of himself and the folks at iPolitics should apologize but since this is a conservative woman being attacked by a lefty man, it won’t happen.
We should no more wait for them to apologize than we should wait for feminists to come out and stand with Rona. Just like Harris, for them, women who lean right don't count.
