SJWs attack Trudeau for St. Patrick's Day cultural appropriation

David MenziesMission Specialist

Here’s the skinny: on March 17th, Trudeau made what any normal person would consider to be a completely innocuous and uncontroversial tweet. Namely, he delivered St. Patrick’s Day greetings. And really, what could possibly upset the rank-and-file of Generation Snowflake regarding St. Paddy’s Day?

Justin’s sin was that he didn’t just wish happy St. Patrick’s Day to “all Canadians of Irish descent.” But he also passed along his salutations those who are "Irish for the day.”

And that line had numerous PC knobs going cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs because apparently someone who isn’t Irish pretending to be Irish for a single day is yet another example of... “cultural appropriation”.

Really? Does anyone know a single Irishman – sorry, Irish-person – who would be the slightest bit offended by someone donning emerald-hued attire and raising a pint to St. Patrick?

Robert Atkinson, precisely. I have been co-celebrating by wearing something green (if not, you got pinched somewhere) and drinking green beer for over 40 years with the Irish and anyone else who likes to whoop it up on said occasions. The Irish are extremely happy, as is everyone else celebrating.

As told to me by an Irishman: “The Irish are offended by f**k all. ‘Cause they’re not pussies.”

Where were they when our Idiot In Charge Trudeau donned native Indian garb. Both North American and of India Indians. Or any of the over fifty other appropriations of dress or behaviour of other cultures.

But to wish everyone, Irish or not, a Happy St. Patrick’s Day is offensive?

But it is Trudeau, so its fun watching him get the SJW PC world view smacking him in the face just as he had tried to do the same to everyone who doesn’t agree with him.

Hasn’t he been “culturally approbating” Canadians?

I found this great video essay on cultural appropriation and how it actually keeps cultures from stagnating. Check this out!

Nice to see the little prince getting back what he usually gives us. And if white snowflakes want to stop appropriating cultural things, they better ditch coffee, chocolate, bananas and the like.

CULTURAL APPRECIATION. Just keep repeating it to these idiots.

Oh great! Now we are going to get another tear filled apology from Junior to the Irish for his faux pas.

Junior honestly thought green beer was an eco-thing, and people experience things differently, and he did put an Irishman in charge of the Indian Act

In addition he will apologize for Canada defending itself against the Fenian raids.

The SJW’s had best beware, for if there was ever a culture that had no problem with the concept that when it comes to overbearing politics , fighting and “fighting words” are never off the table…and if they don’t know that it is just because they have been too lazy to listen to the lyrics of the Land of Song….if there is anything an Irishman has no need of, it is a soy fed SJW as his self appointed champion.

My mother’s clan were Youngs (Travelers) and Cu Chulainn (pronounced with a clearing throat gloteral hoolen “hound of Lainn” hard core Dead Rabbit rebels).

Good heavens…….I almost fell off my o’chair!
For that matter, that tells you Trudeau knows nothing about St. Patrick, because St. Patty was British, not Irish.
March 17 is the day of reverence for this saint, who happens to be the patron saint of Ireland. The Irish imprisoned St. Patrick until he escaped, returned to England, became a Priest and went back to Ireland to convert the Irish pagans.
Trudeau wouldn’t know that because he doesn’t know anything about Catholicism.

Good one, Mennzoid. I too find it hilarious that SJW leftwingnuts take the Primrose Minister to task for this. Even funnier since it’s only the second thing he has done or said since taking office that I actually approve of.

Umm …. I don’t remember what the first thing was.
