Evraz Steel is a Regina company that manufactures pipeline steel. They laid off 125 people at the end of July, just the latest in a series of layoffs this year. And the company is laying the blame squarely at the feet of the Trudeau Liberals.
An Evraz spokesperson told CBC News the decision to lay off 125 people was made “due to the substantial impact of unfairly traded imports and delays in pipeline approval.”
The Liberals added new regulatory hurdles and requirements for pipelines and now it's hurting actual businesses and causing good paying Canadian jobs to disappear.
Just like the Liberals were warned.
Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall is fighting hard to get Alberta pipelines done because it means jobs for Saskatchewan too.
He understands that a strong Alberta means a strong Canada.
If only Alberta’s own premier and Canada’s prime minister felt that way too.
