SNC-Lavalin scandal puts Trudeau “giant killer” myth to the test

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

On last night's episode of The Ezra Levant Show, I talked about how Justin Trudeau’s friends say he's at his best when he’s facing adversity, but is that really true?

With her testimony at the Justice Committee this week, former Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould has emerged as the most principled politician in a generation, willing to go nose to nose with the Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, polls show Trudeau and the Liberals behind. How can he win now? It’s the worst week he’s ever had.

Some of his friends are saying it’s not time to write his political obituary yet, and that people shouldn’t underestimate him because that’s when he usually does well.

Watch as I look at the question of whether or not Trudeau has ever even been tested on this point, and whether or not he really does well under pressure.

EZRA?!?! I’ve never seen this side before, flipping hilarious, “Daydreams, has another glass of wine, offers a glass of wine to her cats, maybe gets in a bubble bath…” then a long long pause, where I laughed my ass off. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! I was having a bad day
brutally funny.

Sheldon Dialer , I heard Andrew Scheer was going to resign from Trudeau’s Cabinet but then they told him he wasn’t really an official cabinet member.

I have been watching Canada’s two major News Stations on the Jane Philpott Cabinet resignation.
Although I hate the Fake News CTV as they lie about so many things, they seem happy with the Philpott News because they will get a brake from lying about Trump.

CBC on the other hand is quiet and sad about this story; almost like “What will we do in 8 months if our only Financier and Cheerleader is knocked out of the picture. Will we keep our jobs ?”

If anyone is looking for yet more reasons NOT to vote Librano in the upcoming election a quick look at the 2015 platform and the broken promises would be good start. Trudeau promised that the 2015 election would be the last one as ‘first past the post’ format-he lied.
He claimed he would ban partisan adds. In order to fulfill that promise he’s have to shut down the CBC so he lied. It’s a joke just how much the CBC carries the water for the Libranos. Trudeau claimed he would run a small deficit of about 10 billion which was not even needed but he ran one approaching 30 billion so he lied. He wanted to end income splitting for the wealthy claiming it helps 15% of families which would be at least 30% of the population and it has not created a single job. Yet he made it easier for the unions. Only 30% of the workers in Canada are unionized and unions have not created a single job either. But unions are great at collecting dues and funneling money to the Libranos . But income splitting leaves more disposable income in the economy but because it isn’t controlled by the Libranos, they had to change it. They called a tax cut from 22% to 20.5% a 7% tax cut. It’s actually 6.8 % if you express the 1.5 % reduction as a percent of the 22% rate. But really folks it’s 1.5% rate reduction. But it sounds so good when the CBC tells you it is. In my books, a 7% reduction in the tax rate would go from 22% to 15%. So if you have a brain, he lied. If you’re a gullible fool, vote Librano. He promised a transparent government. After watching Jody Wilson Raybould removed from her post for doing a conscientious job, the verdict is he lied. He promised to expand exports yet Alberta oil has still no way to tidewater and he continues to throw impediments and red tape in its way, so he lied again. He denied funding for student jobs programs that would not sign on to his baby killing abortion policy. Is that open and equal government for the people? What kind of party are the Libranos that unless you are an avowed baby killer, you can’t run for election because Justin Trudeau won’t let you? The Libranos and Justin Trudeau are utterly unfit to hold office.

What about SNC LAVOLIN’s affairs and contracts that don’t involve the Federal Government? Are we to believe this skullduggery didn’t extend to private companies to which they provided engineering services ? That would involve the QPP and OPP ,would it not?
Quebec is as bad as Haiti. Only one way to conduct business , the corrupt way.

The SNC-Lavalin Scanda events, as they unfolded, carry a strong under-current of corruption. perhaps Justin Trudeau had good intentions – but, as always, good intentions are not enough. A deep understanding and a strong will to do the right thing, are key to good or strong leadership. He has exhibited none of that throughout his time in office. Some people think that Trudeau is just a colourful bird-brain figure-head erected by the corrupt-to-the-bone Liberal Party, placed in on his exalted perch to project his “Sunny Ways”, mouthing pleasant platitudes, with little or no substance behind them. I tend to agree with that assessment. Accepting that, he may fairly be described as an ingenue, a political light-weight, or a fool. Will the party heavy-weights dethrone him and replace him before the up-coming election? For them, there is a huge political risk in doing that. Would they choose JWR to replace him because she appears to have some integrity and strength of character?
Another comment by a friend:
Trudeau is looking very bad on this one, but Jody W-R is not innocent either. If she were completely ethical she would have resigned at the moment the political pressure on her to give SNCL a deal became unrelenting. She certainly would have resigned when she was demoted in cabinet stating publicly her reasons for doing so. Instead, she held off speaking publicly while someone fed sympathetic stories to the Globe and Mail. Each time Trudeau erected a self-serving defense, a new “speculative” story would appear demolishing that defense. Then, she made an unprecedented request to speak to the cabinet from which she had, at this time, resigned. Mysteriously, an unofficial account of that meeting that was sympathetic to J-R appeared in the next Globe and Mail. Now she announces she will continue to run for the Liberals. In the meantime, she has placed Trudeau in an untenable position. If he kicks her out of caucus, he further sinks his ship. If she remains in caucus she becomes a center of power independent from the PM. Yup, she is going for prime minister. Machiavelli could have learned something from her.

I enjoyed reading your Theory, however JWR will never be leader of the Liberal Party of Canada or PM.
The Liberal Leader has to be popular in Quebec or Ontario or preferably both. Quebec will remember Jody as the one that wanted to blow away their largest employer. Then there is the language problem.

The other problem for Jody is she is not an elite from the Montreal Laurentians; nor was her family a big business owner in Southern Ontario. She was never involved with the Arts & Entertainment places where the Opera Houses are.
Some of you will remember when Harper cut 47 million from the A & E budget; the Elites, including the CBC hinted that is what we get for electing Hillbillies, we lose our culture. If they may have called Harper and his wife Hillbillies, what will they call Jody? The elites think anybody west of Ont. are cowboys or Indians?

Alberta wouldn’t have many Liberal votes, no matter who was leader, while Sask. still has 1st Nations problems, and likely wouldn’t be too enthused at voting for a 1st Nations leader even if they did the unlikely and voted Liberal.

A fair portion of the BC voters are already worried about how they have lost almost every court case in the past 10 years to the 1st Nations. Do you think they would put the fox in charge of the hen house?

Robin, I can’t see many votes stacking up anywhere. It never pays to be honest in Politics.

As an aside, the transcript for the CBC program Day 6’s story “Jody Wilson-Raybould may have offered an alternative to politics as usual” on the CBC website is allowing overt antisemitic comments but not comments questioning how such comments are getting by moderators or allowed by moderators.
Comment as written and published in comments on CBC Day 6 site:
“Colin Beck
LIKE POLES REPEL. Jodi & Justin have the same problem. They don’t think Jewish…..” etc.
To which I commented: “And the moderators actually allow this comment? Shows where their opinions lie.” Which was not published but labeled as "content disabled ". A second comment I made “Ok, let’s trh this- this is actually allowed?!?!” Which they deemed fit to publish.
This person went on to post another antisemitic comment which again I criticized for being allowed and again was labeled content disabled. The original offending comments may now have been removed but I took screenshots of them. Not trying to hijack this thread just giving a look at where our public broadcaster ’s sympathies lie.

My Conspiracy Theory.
The brass actually running the Liberal party realized 2 years ago that their selfie-taking, sock-boy, hot garbage puppet is an incompetent, vacuous, crayon-munching imbecile that would be death to re-election.
They brilliantly orchestrate a series of ever-escalating scandals ( junior accepting bribes, MP’s funding terror groups, gropergate, Norman/SNC Lavalin etc. etc) necessitating a leadership change.
Junior is ousted (or resigns citing a need to spend more time with the family – a popular theme of late). After a series of harsh scoldings, Morneau and Telford cling to their posts, (on double secret probation), while the lower echelon minions resign or are fired (with severance pay and life-long golden pensions).
The chastened and humbled Liberal party has undergone a fearless and fastidious cleansing and JWR ascends to leadership role of the Liberal party. JWR wins the October election and Canada rejoices as illegal migrants and ISIS fighters (new Liberal voters) flood into the country.
Anyone north or west of Toronto languishes under Liberal rule.

Good point,Ezra,Trudeau has never faced adversity in his entire life and it’s beginning to show.
On the Brazeau fight, as old old amateur boxer myself, imo Brazeau did everything wrong right from the start and it was inevitable he’d lose. The leadership contest was NO contest, and from day one Trudeau had his BFF Butts behind him to read him the script.

I’d like an investigative Reporter to go back to the schools and colleges Trudeau attended just to find out how legitimate his education degree is. I suspect no professor in Canada would have given an “F” to a Trudeau, even if he partied his way through school.

The JWR case has shown Canadians very clearly that Trudeau is a narcissistic thug who will crush opposition who dare to disagree with him.Of course that was evident from the time he booted two MP’s out of caucus on the word of an NDP MP that they’d said sexy things to her.
Trudeau interfered with the A-G in a criminal case,it wasn’t just a gentle discussion as the LPC liars are claiming, there was undoubtedly some shouting and angry words from both Butts and Trudeau as they tried to intimidate her, maybe a few threats as well.

Trudeau has become,to the world, what we always knew he was, A JOKE, a mere figurehead placed into the Top Job by interested parties, such as SNC and the rest of the Quebec cabal. Biggest danger now is the public might finally wake up to how this Country is run and who runs it.

As I noted late last week, the CBC on screen graphic referred to the ongoing SNC LAVOLIN saga as a “controversy” . And then the Globe and Mail headline on Sunday used the same word, controversy.
Obstruction and influence peddling at the highest level of our government isn’t a scandal,it’s a controversy. That’s like calling the Hindenburg a bad landing rather than a catastrophe.
Of course none of us can expect any honesty or integrity from the bought off media. I hope the CBC and Globe and Mail met in a bar to come up with their clever deceptioms. At least they could have a few Scotch on the rocks while they laugh in our face.
commented 2019-03-04 06:13:56 -0500
Any investigation conducted on this scandal will be from a Lieberal Party source. All parties concerned work from Trugrope so the lack of objectivity is already set. Trugrope will simply slither away to another self made scandal.

Canadians must push for a 3rd party investigation and vett the investigators.
