End the corporate welfare. Tell the government to stop backing Bombardier

POLL — Canadians (even in Quebec) say: Cut off Bombardier’s corporate welfare

Brian Lilley reports on the stunning results of a poll asking if Canadians want the Liberals to stop bailing out Bombardier.

It’s time to stop backing Bombardier.

Bombardier is a massive company and in many ways a real Canadian success story. Started in the small town of Valcourt in Quebec’s Eastern Townships, it's now a global player in the air, rail, and all kinds of transportation.

But unfortunately, it's also addicted to taking government money, even when it doesn’t need it.

Bombardier was just awarded millions by the federal government and they are about to get a billion more.

Navdeep Bains, the Minister of Innovation, said: "it's not a matter of if we want to invest, it's how we make that investment."

Over the years Bombardier and its subsidiaries have received more than $2.2 billion in direct government assistance. And now they are soon to get a billion dollars more.

These subsidies go to a company that showed revenues of $3.9 billion for the first quarter of 2016.

A company that awards salaries like $3.8 million for Pierre Beaudoin, the chairman of the board or $6.4 million for Alain Bellmare the current President and CEO.

These government subsidies need to stop, the corporate welfare is unacceptable.

If you think Bombardier has been given too much money, and shouldn't be given any more corporate welfare, then sign the petition below!

But that's not all.

We also want to fund a scientifically valid opinion poll, to find out what Canadians think of this crony capitalism, this corporate welfare, that sees your hard earned money taxed, sent off to Ottawa and then handed out to friends of the politicians in Ottawa.

If this all leaves a bad taste in your mouth, if you are sick of being a hard working Canadian, a small business owner, a retiree that has to subsidize this global transportation giant then please sign our petition below.

Sign the petition!

Bombardier should no longer receive corporate welfare from the government.

Will you sign?
