Student unions violate UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Keean BexteRebel Contributor

Every student union is violating students’ fundamental human rights. No, it’s not because SJW feminists make students watch their disgusting vagina sex week campaigns.

It’s actually in Article 20 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UN it clearly says:

(1) Everyone has the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association.

And equally:

(2) No one may be compelled to belong to an association.

Look, I can’t stand the UN, but they are actually right here. Every university semester, every student enrolled in a university, everywhere in the world, with few exceptions, are having student union thugs steal their tuition money.

The fight for student freedom isn’t hopeless though, in Australia the Abolition of Compulsory Up-front Student Union Fees act was passed. The same thing happened in New Zealand, and for over a decade, the act made it illegal for student union thugs to bully already indebted students out of their lunch money.

In Canada, the federal Conservative Party, along with a couple provincial conservative parties, including Jason Kenney’s United Conservative Party support voluntary student unionism, but it is yet to be seen if they will legislate on this issue facing students when they form government.

Glenn Craig: You made some excellent points, about how Unions get commandeered.

Its a sad reality.

Henry….did you read the fine print on the enrollment form….there is no point making a class action lawsuit over anything you agreed to ….unwittingly or not.

1. The UN having a document stating reasonable principles like a freedom of association – and a freedom to NOT join associations – is surely a fluke and will surely be changed in due course, especially if it becomes problematic. Don’t ever let the UN be your moral compass.
2.The whole mandatory student fees issue is one that is just screaming for a lawsuit to take it to court. The courts could – and should! – rule that they are unjust and strike down mandatory student fees but that would take initiative on our part. Ideally, students who oppose these fees, joined by parents who share their disgust for them, should file a class action suit against one of the student unions or even against all of the student unions in Canada collectively. Those unions have been far to the left of the student body since I was in university 40 years ago and maybe long before that. I well remember part of my student fee going to support the Chevron at the University of Waterloo. The Chevron’s idea of journalism was to despise both the Soviet Union and China for being the wrong kind of communism and to advocate the Albanian system of communist dictatorship for our country; naturally, they despised the West and its capitalist system and particular the US for its “imperialistic hegemony” over The People. They published that codswallop for at least several years before they were finally driven off campus and a real student paper established.

Now I am going to expand on the implications of what I just stated. You would have to be a fool to knowingly accept being a member of a union if you are dead against it….and you would also be a fool to be a member of ANY voting democratic association and think things are going to be to your liking if you just don’t participate and leave it up to others.

Democracy IS NOT a “tyrany of the majority”…it is an oligarchy of those motivated enough to attend meetings…

Unions get commandeered by SJWs …and they usually don’t even need to try very hard. Those who should be in charge burn out and desert. Unions and like associations are there to represent you in contract terms and are the lawfull agent of your grievances…..desertion of this cannot have a desireable result.

Here is the fly in the ointment….THE CHIEF JUSTICE RAND DECISION….this applies to trade unions and probably to student unions as well…..

If a company manager agrees to enter into a collective agreement with a union, payment of union dues is then compulsory. This is part of the offer of employment that you sign AND ACCEPT….because you knew or you aught to have known that the company was unionized .

There is a formula for payment in lieu to a charity of an equivalent amount if you are a member of a specific list of conscientious objecter churches.

But the notion that you can get around this by assertion of any number of bills or charters of right just won’t fly….MANY HAVE TRIED

Now please don’t call me nasty names just because I stuck a pin in your balloon.

That’s because they know these stupid kids’ parents are paying the bill for most of them and they don’t care about the legitimate kids trying to get an education.
Why? Because these kids aren’t going to get jobs anyway.
The cunning ones are running the show, getting the money and laughing at the kids who should be in a community college actually learning a skill that will get them a job or the kids who should be aspiring to work at McDonalds.

I’d rather be dead than Red!

No union should be mandatory. It’s forced association, which is contrary to Freedom of Association!

Betty; high schools, colleges and Uni’s need a rigorous cleaning. where did you think the retarded Trudeau were created.

You’d think that student unions would maybe take money from students to address student issues, but it looks like student unions and other unions in Canada take money from their members to further their own communist agenda locally, nationally and internationally, so students are just the source of income in this case.
