Study proves that liberals are less tolerant, more likely to delete someone off Facebook for their political views

Mike GwilliamRebel Columnist

If you ever needed a study to prove what you already suspected about liberals, Public Religion Research Institute has your back.

The new study by PPRI has determined that liberals are much more intolerant towards other people's beliefs. According to the report, “Political liberals are far more likely than conservatives to say they removed someone from their social media circle due to what they shared online.”

It goes on to say, “Nearly a quarter (24%) of Democrats say they blocked, unfriended or unfollowed someone after the presidential election, compared to just 9% of Republicans and 9% of Independents who were triggered to do the same.

Almost three in ten (30%) of Democratic women removed someone from their social network because of their political opinion.”

Is it really that surprising?

SOUND OFF in the comments: has a liberal ever unfriended you over your political beliefs?

The tyranny of the tolerance mantra. They are tolerant only of groups that fit their bill.

If you want to see the left at work look no further than the violent anti-Trump protests after the election. The attempt to recount the 3 swing states by a person that had no chance of changing anything, the hatred for the electoral college, the death threats against electors, and the absolute lies about Russian involvement.

This is why, when asked, many Republican, or conservative voters are shy to even talk politics. The lefties prattle on where I work. I avoid talking politics, knowing it would work against me trying to get promoted. All conservatives know that to be true.

Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views.

Potential flaws in this study is:
- the number of contacts/friends/followers they had to start with. E.g. A liberal blocking 5 of his 1000 followers may be more tolerant than a conservative blocking 1 of his 50 followers.
- how open were they to meeting/befriending people in the first place?
- What study? I clicked the link to read the detail of the study, but it goes to infowars, who are often conspiracy theorists. Who link elsewhere, but not directly to “the study”. I found the PRRI website. A pity the OP never gave is a direct link to it. I have no clue how scientific the study was and don’t have another 30 minutes to find it and fathom it. http://www.prri.org/research-home/

A Green Party acquaintance got cranky with me for calling BS on his democratic reform views and will not communicate with me anymore. I’m gonna miss him. NOT.

Am I the only one who is happy about this statistic? When Trump won (the first time) I celebrated by changing my profile pic to a pic of Trump, and my cover photo to a pic of a bunch of whiny liberal snowflakes sobbing. Thus the swamp of my friends list was purged of all liberal crybabies in one fell swoop. Nothing like taking out the leftard trash!

I have a younger sister that is a liberal, and we can’t even discuss politics anymore. She gets this contemptuous look on her face, and the sound of her voice could cut me into pieces. This particular sister never left home. She left her family home and moved in with her boyfriend, now her husband of almost 40-years, so she hasn’t got a clue what it’s like to have to fend for herself.

We’ve all known this for years. Just try to have a conversation with them when they are differing from your opinion and watch what happens when they know they are wrong. They resort to name calling, swearing and belittling you and your opinion. The same stuff they did in kindergarten. Guess some things never change.

The difference between liberals and conservatives is that liberals believe you’re entitled to your opinion only if it’s the same as theirs. Conservatives on the other hand believe you’re entitled to your opinion even if it’s contrary to theirs but then you’re an idiot.©PTaalman 2015.

Which then leads me to believe that conservatives are more liberal than liberals because conservatives at least allow you to have a contrary opinion even if they think you’re an idiot. That then makes liberals more conservative than conservatives because they’re so closed-minded and it just proves they’re idiots.

“Is it really that surprising? "

Not in the slightest.
