David Suzuki says he believes in free speech and says he doesn’t want scientists to be muzzled yet he doesn’t support people that want to ask him tough questions or even any question that might challenge his point of view.
(MATURE LANGUAGE WARNING:)
I’ve covered him plenty of times in the past without any run ins but that changed at Ottawa’s climate change rally when I tried to get him to explain why he is travelling so much when I clearly remember him promising he wouldn’t do that anymore.
Several years ago he held a press conference on Parliament Hill and told reporters we wouldn’t really see him anymore because his carbon footprint was too big. He said it was time to walk the walk so he would do more video conferencing and less travel.
He hasn’t kept that promise and I asked him about it. He didn’t like the question. Neither did his hired union thug henchmen. They tried to block my camera and shoved me.
You’d think a man that values freedom of speech for scientists would have stopped his security team, told them to leave me alone, not to touch me. But Suzuki didn’t do that. He kept walking rather than stop and answer my questions and then allowed his Quebec CSN union thugs to push me around.
One of them even asked for privacy at a public protest in the middle of a public street that the media and the rest of the world had been invited to.
As if that weren’t enough, an organizer standing with Suzuki tried to have me removed.
Ladies and gentlemen, it’s official, the emperor has no clothes.
He doesn’t follow the gospel he preaches and can’t withstand a few basic questions. Is that someone you want to put your trust in?
