Tax on a tax scheme: GST on Notley’s carbon tax sends $85M to Justin’s Liberals

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Commentator Sheila Gunn Reid

The Federal government stands to make a pile of money off the money Rachel Notley is already taking out of your family’s pockets with her new carbon tax by charging GST on top of it.

In fact, they stand to make an extra $280M over the next two years from Alberta and BC through their tax on a tax scheme.

In Alberta, 5% GST on top of the $1.7B the Alberta government will already take from us in carbon taxes next year means we’re sending Ottawa an additional $85M in 2018.

But, if you need more proof, watch my video as I go through my family’s natural gas bill and show you where the taxes are being charged.

Isn’t it bad enough that Notley’s taking this money from your family every single month through every single purchase you make, through your fridge, your lights, your furnace, your car?

Now Justin Trudeau needs his cut too.

And Rachel Notley told me I’d never notice the additional costs of her carbon tax. I couldn't ignore them if I tried.

Government out of control. Too much damn government. Who the hell is working for who here. We are their slaves already. There will be push back.

Paying more in tax and delivery charges than the actual consumption is highway robbery plain and simple.
Sick of it.

There is only one justice in all of this. That is to have all these politician charged with treason when booted out of office, all of them.
And all you Liberal supporters thought they cared for the middle class right just have another toke maybe you won’t realise you are getting screwed.

So how is the rebel’s quest to stop the carbon tax?

Daryl Herman yeah , but i want them to realize they cannot explain it.

Well if the deluded lunatics say they can change the climate – surely they can say & declare any bit of bullshit as truth – ours is not to question why – but to do or die!

Another question for the left wing trolls? You were so happy to point out Harpers deficits were poor management even when he lowered taxes , now you will defend the lefts deficits when they rape our wallets and have way more money coming in. PATHETIC!

How is a tax a good or service? Any left wing commenters want to explain that one to me?

When Wynne squawked several years ago about her brilliant plans to create more “revenue tools”, it was all too obvious she was the tool, and she still is. Enjoy the green shift Ontario.

As for Notley, and her cabinet of swine, and her anti Alberta board members (foreigners to Alberta by the way), communist politburo asshats. Losers all. When Queen Rachael does finally leave office her wrinkles should be checked. She could stash a fortune in there.

Junior is an idiot and I’m sick of puking. Someone do something with that stammering stool.

DARRYL HERMAN….Maybe we should see how they fare with a dash against a .270 Nozzler.

Tax on a tax. A gulag would be TOO good for this entire motley crew.

BC instituted a carbon tax a few years ago, at that time I noticed that GST was charged on the carbon tax on our gas bill. I called the gas company to remind them that you cannot charge a tax on top of a tax. They told me that they had been ordered to do so by the tax department, so I called the BC revenue service and told them the same thing.

They assured me that it was quite legal since the carbon tax is not a tax. They explained that if the tax was a tax then they would not be able to tax it, however, since the tax is not a tax then it is OK to tax it. Since I am unable to speak bureaucratese, I was unable to come up with a suitable argument I simply hung up the phone and spent some quality time banging my head on the table.

Be thankful in Alberta that your Carbon Tax is only 55% of the cost of gas, here in BC I paid $10.43 carbon not a tax on $14.35 cost of gas (= 73%).

We must remember, however, that someone has to pay for Trudeau’s holidays and it is probably cheaper for us if he is not in Ottawa.

A scheme only the Liberals and NDP could devise! Criminals, through and through!

That is the only thing Nutly Turdo and wind bag will understand. The MSM,CBC would not be able to hide a massive protest.

Damn, I can hardly wait for those Nutley Energy “Advisors” to drop by my place!! Does anyone think they can outrun a Ford diesel?? …they will be lucky if that’s all they’ll need to out-run!
Guess it’s time to do Massive protests like what’s currently happening in Venezuela.

…and the RCMP should be ashamed of themselves – for providing such heavy security for this lunatic criminal!!! Normal nature has a way of taking care of such criminals.

Harley McCartney,

There is one big Alberta fan of Notley, in fact her biggest fan…that would be Redford.

Notley makes Redford the second most hated premier now, and Notley makes her look like a policy genius of integrity in addition.

Keith Barnes commented
“Notley is nothing but a Two Bit Gangster, she has created legalized robbery. She should be on the Movies, like the Snuff variety.”

Notley learned well from Wynne and the Red Tent, Ontario still has Alberta beat when it comes to picked taxpayers’ pockets (Wynne won’t even leave lint in your pocket), the other Liberal run provinces aren’t that far behind Wynne, Alberta is now catching up to what we conservatives have lived with for years under socialist rule. Welcome to the dark side.
commented 2017-04-20 14:20:23 -0400
Hey Sheila, how can you justify calling it a “carbon tax”? I mean it says right on your bill it is a “carbon levy”, and the Libranos like to talk “carbon pricing” or just lump everything in together and covertly call it a “revenue stream”. When Imam Justin lisps and gasps the words it just seems all so furry, magical and of course necessary, like Sunday Morning Coming Down. Speaking of which stay tuned for Justin’s marijuana tax……er, uh, um, um, uh…revenue stream. Sigh.

The math says Nutleys lights will take 100 years to pay for themselves.
This is exactly why I dont try to be energy efficient. All the money in extra fees and taxes.
The meager savings a small % of the $15 not on the total bill. Tax on Tax What a scam!
Nutley is the most hated premier Alberta has ever had. Turdo is scum.

Notley has to feed the gravy train of traitors in Canada! She’ll pay one day for her theft of public funds based on a globalist lie.

Well, Rachel Notley may be able to ignore the carbon taxes because she is taking around $300K (plus a plethora of full benefits and charge accounts) from the Alberta tax payer. So yea, she would never notice the carbon tax.

Just remember all you fools that voted for these parasites, as Margaret Thatcher stated, eventually they run out of other peoples money.
