Unlike most Canadian media, The Rebel is an independent media start-up that receives no government funds whatsoever. It relies on a crowdfunding model, where thousands of ordinary people support it through small contributions. 

CONTRIBUTION POLICY

Crowdfunded contributions to The Rebel are considered gratuitous gifts and do not result in any equity or other ownership or rights to contributors.

Surplus funds for specific initiatives

Surplus funds raised for specific initiatives will be used for other costs associated with that particular project, such as website development, website hosting, mail, and other such expenses. Additional funds will be used towards other similar initiatives in the future. 

Tax-deductibility

Please note that contributions to The Rebel are not tax deductible. We are unable to offer receipts for donations sent by mail. If you would like a confirmation of a donation you made, you can contact us at support@therebel.media. Please include your name, email address, the date and amount of your donation, and phone number so we can accurately deal with your request.

SERVICES AND FEES

You will not be charged a fee for a Service unless you subscribe to that Service. You must be of the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence to subscribe to a Service.

The Rebel Media does not guarantee service on all devices. Please note that third-party cookies must be enabled in order to access Premium Content. For a list of internet browsers and operating systems supported, and necessary bandwidth requirements please click here. We offer mobile apps for iOS versions 10 and above, and for Android 7 and above. We offer Smart TV apps for Apple TV and Roku.

The Rebel Media makes no guarantee as to the availability of any particular episode or content on The Rebel Media, the total number of episodes or amount of content to be broadcast. Talent is subject to change without notice. The Rebel Media is not responsible for views expressed by any of our talent.

The fees for Service (plus any applicable taxes or other additional charges, such as administration, transaction or access fees), accepted methods of payment and accepted frequencies of billing (such as one-time, every four weeks, monthly or annually) will be specified at the time of subscription. All fees, unless otherwise specified, are in Canadian dollars.

If you purchase a periodic subscription to a Service, your subscription will continue until it is cancelled.

Promotional code:

When using a promotional code to subscribe to Premium Content at a discounted price, the discount applies only during the initial subscription period and does not apply to renewal periods. All renewals will be charged at the then-current subscription price.

Monthly subscription:

Monthly subscriptions will automatically renew every fourth week commencing from your purchase date. You must cancel your subscription before the renewal date to prevent the next charge to your credit card.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

Cancelling your monthly subscription:

You may cancel your monthly subscription at any time by emailing support@therebel.media, or by signing into your account on the My Account page and clicking Cancel Subscription. When cancelling in your account settings, you will lose access to your subscription immediately.

All charges for monthly subscriptions are non-refundable.

Yearly subscription:

Your yearly subscription will automatically renew at the end of each subscription year commencing from your purchase date. You must cancel your subscription before the renewal date to prevent the next charge to your credit card.

Cancelling your yearly subscription:

You can cancel your monthly subscription at any time by emailing support@therebel.media, or by signing into your account on the My Account page and clicking Cancel Subscription. When cancelling in your account settings you will lose access to your subscription immediately rather than at the period end.

All charges for annual subscriptions are non-refundable.
