Thanks, Trump! Now all my friends hate me.

Gavin McInnesArchive

I lost a lot of friends after I voted for Donald Trump. And I don't care. Part of that is because I'm a dude, which means I don't feel the same way about friendships as women do.

(LANGUAGE WARNING)

But I feel bad for my wife:

She voted for Hillary, but because we're married, she gets shunned, too.

So far I've been "ex'd" by a guy I made a movie with, another who was my best friend for decades, a girl who did a blurb for my book... the list goes on.

Don’t have that problem. Don’t have fruits for friends. They all like Trump, voted for him, and love how he drives the Media nuts.

you’re lucky, i lost a decades old friend just by sending him an obama joke after the first election

Steve Hicken:
If you don’t tell your friends how you vote and they don’t tell you, then how meaningful are your friendships? Friendship is based on trust and grows deeper from knowing about a person and helping them to succeed. If you do not know how they think on a fundamental subject as their values then how well do you really know these people and vice versa. I never understood people who like to keep things to themselves. Most people I know like that are game players, eg. passive aggressive power struggles.

Just wanted to clarify my first comment. First part was a joke. I don’t dislike anyone on the Rebel staff. I don’t think I have seen all the newbies yet.

Feel like I haven’t seen Gavin in a while … I missed his commentary. Good to see him.

I saw a video on youtube a few days back where Ben Stein laid into the media for it’s unfair non-stop attacks against Trump. The whole racist sexist thing were the trigger issues that has allowed the liberal media to ignite the extremists on the left to spiral out of control. No doubt in such a toxic politically correct atmosphere one could have chosen to walk on the word tightrope a little gentler but there is a point in that it took someone with lead work boots bouncing on the high wire to expose how extremely fragile the liberal media dictators have become. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vACfwwisps8

Yup. A former friend whom I’ve known for years, who I helped when she divorced her dead-beat ex-husband and had to declare bankruptcy, who called me almost every day for support as she went thru AA….yup, she ended our friendship when she discovered I was voting for Trump. Her fury was intense, and that ended that. You know, the funny thing is I don’t miss her or the friendship. My opinion is good riddance.

Yeah, I have friends threatening to end ties because I have voiced my disdain for the Khadr situation.

Frankly, if you care more about some terrorist than our friendship, don’t let me stop you from hitting that unfriend button. I’d rather not be guilty by association.

According to a 2014 Washington Post article only 7% of journalists are Republican. I wonder what the stats are for Canada.

You should be grateful we don’t hate you for who you are but seriously. I am not at all surprised. Trump took on the liberal media cartel and government cabal. It is expected that some parasites will not let go after a long free feeding frenzy without a struggle.

Since I was able to vote since 1968 I have never told anyone who I voted for! None of their damn business ,and I never ask who they voted for either

Gavin, as an old white man (underprivileged!) – it sometimes takes nearly a lifetime to come to the determination that there are many people who are not good friends, but just leaches for the optimistic life that I’ve (we’ve) tried to live.

Gavin, I don’t think we are winning against the left, especially when the most powerful person in the world can’t get anything done even though he has the Senate and the Legislature on his side. The Liberals have the education system; almost every 18 year old released into society is a Liberal. It will take a decade for them to switch over to common sense.

Hey Gavin. Had a Laurentian acquaintance who e-mailed out a Mencken quote, to the effect, about democracy giving the unwashed a vote then they will vote in an uneducated narcissist. This was after the election. I e-mailed back that democracy corrects itself because the narcissist would be out Jan. 20, but Canadians had to wait until 2019 before getting rid of their narcissist. Safe to say that we are no longer acquainted.

I’d be happy to be your friend, Gavin.

“But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.”

Gavin…One has to ask: ‘how well do I really know this person and are they a friend or simply an acquaintance’? And then ask yourself, ‘what do I mean by ’friend’’?Looks like you have been given a gift/epiphany.
