We’re in the main souk of Marrakech because we were kicked out of the compound where heads of state are gathered for the UN’s conference on the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.
Not only were we turned away at the gate, but the police further informed us that without a permit, we would not even be allowed to film on a public sidewalk.
It’s troubling. We’ve travelled thousands of miles to cover something that should be open and transparent for the taxpayers who are, willingly or not, footing the bill for this soft invasion of Western nations.
