Hide your kids and hide your wives, because America's most unhinged conspiracy theorist - a man who makes Alex Jones look grounded - is coming to Canada's largest city.
Iranian-Canadian activist Shabnam Assadollahi spotted this announcement on Facebook, promoting an event at the Islamic Centre of York Region on May 31 honouring the Ayatollah Khomeini.
It's the Ayatollah stuff that got Assadollahi's attention, but the name "Dr. Kevin Barrett" is the one that stood out for me. Barrett is a former University of Wisconsin professor who briefly gained national attention for promoting 9/11 conspiracy theories. From there it's been a descent into complete and utter madness.
Barrett is now a regular guest on Iran's PRESS TV "news" channel, but it's at the misleadingly named Veterans Today website - actually a front for neo-Nazis and Islamists - where he really lets his freak flag fly. (Thanks to the great Adam Holland, a man made of much stronger stuff than I, who uncovered much of this.) Of course there's 9/11 conspiracy theorizing:
Did Israel nuke America on 9/11?
Veterans Today Editors Gordon Duff and James Fetzer say “yes.” The political implications of proving this thesis would be hard to overestimate. It would mean America has not only been fighting the wrong enemy, but has actually been laying waste to the enemies of the real enemy. If these guys are right, we have been fighting against our own best allies – the very people who would help us strike back at the folks who nuked us.
Or nanothermited us.
Or whatever they did to pulverize three skyscrapers and murder almost 3,000 Americans in a single morning.
There are two issues here: “Israel did it” and “how they did it.”
...Holocaust "revisionism," wink wink:
We Westerners are free to grossly underestimate the number of victims of our own holocausts. But anyone who argues that significantly fewer than six million Jews were killed by the Nazis risks imprisonment. Is “holocaust denial” illegal because the revisionist arguments cannot be successfully countered using logic and evidence? Or are these laws and prosecutions simply the neurotic symptom of a West that demonized the Nazis in order to cover up its own crimes, and conceal its own guilt?
...whatever the heck this is supposed to be:
It sounds like a joke, a B-grade sci-fi flick, or an anti-Jewish canard. But it’s not. It’s the truth – at least according to leading Zionist-Kabbalist thinker Michael Laitman.
I would expect to hear such things from some homeless guy in a tinfoil yarmulke raving beneath the Wailing Wall, or a neo-Nazi skinhead on bad acid. But when someone with Michael Laitman’s credentials claims that he and the whole nation of Israel are mind-controlled by space beams from an alien planet, marching in lockstep toward total world conquest, you really have to sit up and take notice.
...and conspiracy theories about how the Charlie Hebdo attacks, Malaysian Airlines disasters, the Anders Breivik massacre and possibly the loss of his car keys were false flag operations carried out by you-know-who:
Just one month ago, France set off a stampede when its lower house voted to recognize Palestine. Now Palestine is in the International Criminal Court, poised to take down Israel for genocide.
Suddenly “Islamic terror strikes France.” Is Paris being punished for its pro-Palestine vote?
In late 2013, Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur Tribunal found Israel guilty of genocide. A few months later, Malaysian planes started falling out of the sky.
In 2011, Norway’s Labor Party’s youth wing was poised to impose a complete blockade on Israel. Suddenly the entire leadership of the Party’s youth wing was slaughtered in a professional operation falsely attributed to a lone nut, Anders Breivik.
Then again, even though it was the Joooooos who carried out the Charlie Hebdo killings, the victims totally deserved to die for blasphemy anyway:
...rather than being murdered by blue-eyed Special Forces officers dressed up as Wahhabis, they should have been tried, condemned, and hanged, whether for genocide propaganda in a secular courtroom, or for blasphemy in an Islamic one. (The genocide I am referring to, of course, is the 9/11-false-flag-triggered War on Islam, which has killed more than one million Muslims, ruined the lives of tens of millions, and aims at eradicating Islam in part by targeting its sacred symbols for blasphemous, pornographic annihilation.)
Barrett, who purports to be a convert to Islam (though "UFO cultist" better describes him) has long had a thing for making veiled and not-so-veiled death threats against his purported enemies. A few years back he tried to launch a website listing the home addresses of alleged 9/11 conspirators, which even his fellow troofers thought went too far. And then there was his masterpiece, his open letter to that most nefarious 9/11 conspirator of them all: Democracy Now host Amy Goodman.
Amy Goodman WAS THERE during the Pre-announced Demolition, Complete with Countdown, of WTC-7
Since then she has participated in the treasonous media cover-up of the 9/11 inside job, accepting over $100,000 from the CIA-disinfo-disseminating Ford Foundation to "report on the aftermath of 9/11."
Amy, you will one day find yourself on the scaffold, condemned to hang alongside the other Goebbels-style traitors and mass-murder-coverup-conspirators from the corporate media you pretend to criticize.
They, at least, make no pretense of being anything but shills for the powers that be--which makes your crime infinitely worse than theirs.
Your silence and lies about 9/11 have murdered over half a million Iraqis and destroyed Constitutional governance in the USA.
Amy Goodman, je t'accuse -- et je te condemne!
So, yeah, this guy has some issues.
Canada would have every right to keep him out of the country, of course, but I don't think it would be worth the trouble. He already has enough of a persecution complex that I don't think we have to make him a free speech martyr like former MP George Galloway. (God, it feels good writing that.)
But someone at the Islamic Centre of North York looked up Barrett's work and decided, yep, this guy belongs here. Considering that it's an event to celebrate the Ayatollah Khomeini, I have to agree: he does indeed belong there.
