Unlike many of their Western counterparts, Hebron's children develop “strength and courage”

Katie HopkinsShillman Fellow

I had so many questions for Yishai Fleisher, a spokesperson for the town of Hebron in Israel.

Why is it so important for Jews here, who are now vastly outnumbered by Arabs, to retain a strong presence in this particular place, home of the Cave of the Patriarchs?

Why do so many of the young people have British accents?

And am I too old to join the IDF...?

I admire the tenacity of the Jewish people. While our young men in our universities seek safe spaces, Jewish young men serve a term in the IDF. Israeli fighter pilots are held in highest regard in being at the forefront of protecting a nation that the people are determined to protect. No post-national state here.
I came away with the impression that Canada is in a more vulnerable position in that our leaders and the bulk of our citizens do not understand or recognize the threat and thus we are sleepwalking to our demise.
