The real life Wakanda of “Black Panther” is no African utopia: Here's what I saw there

Ben DaviesRebel Host | Rebel Reel Reviews

The new movie Black Panther is a runaway box office smash (at least here in the US...) African-Americans especially have embraced the film's vision of a powerful, technologically advanced African utopia called Wakanda.

Black Panther's fictional nation is based on Uganda — where I spent a month doing mission work. That gives me a special perspective on the values espoused in this film...

By the way, many are lauding Black Panther as an anti-Trump movie, but ironically, the ethno-state philosophy espoused by Wakanda's leaders is dangerously nationalistic: Rather than ushering in a pan-African paradise, this same worldview has led to the slaughter of millions of Africans by their neighbouring countrymen.

Sorry to hear about your mother.
Please heed Drew’s advice and quit making everything about race. Reread your ridiculous comment to me.

Good point Ben SJW’s cannot hate nationalism for one country then embrace it for another, like they hate colonialism unless it is Muslim conquest.

Someone else said that Ben Davies was gone a day or so ago, because his name wasn’t on the sidebar. Common reaction as that is how we usually know when someone has left or been fired from The Rebel. I trust you can see that Tommy is no longer there.

Vincent Cassini, wasn’t it you who claimed Ben Davies “jumped ship”?

Looks like you are wrong again, just like all your other comments.

You break the law of probability. Even by chance you should be getting it correct once in a while, but you don’t.

Wow Vinny, you really were dropped on your head as an infant. I bet your Mom is still apologizing!

I am sure you also felt it was a movie for black people and not whitey.

Saw the trailer just before the movie was released and decided it’s another Marvel offering I will skip.

Critics like it because it checks many of the SJW boxes on their checklists. That’s how most movie critics judge movies these days. This is why I don’t listen to them. The left love to praise hellholes until they’re exposed as hellholes. Venezuela was the place that everyone was supposed to look to as an example of how we should all live …………. until it collapsed.

Apparently you don’t understand that if a movie gets a higher ranking than say The Godfather, it doesn’t mean it’s a better movie than The Godfather – it means per the genre of that film, it is among the best, so in the case of Black Panther – it’s among the best comic book movies.

Do you think if a comedy gets 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, that means it’s a better film than The Godfather?

I will assume you are not this stupid, but you are making the argument because you have an agenda to sell.
