There is no station now that reports the truth any more. They are all like reading a magazine. Just a bunch of ads & promotions. The rebel is so necessary. I wish you could get back on TV.

Congrats but you need to get onto Apple TV, Roku and the like.

Adam I would like to comment on what you said “If The Rebel fails, then obviously conservatives here are simply wrong in their assumption that Canadians are dying for a conservative voice in the news”. I don’t think Canadians really are wanting a conservative voice. I have no scientific research to support my statement other than the numbers who watch TheRebel video clips from you tube and the few people I talk to. I think having this website is a success. The editorial content is what appeals to me and brings me back each day.

Rick said: “The CRTC should have treated the SNN the same as the CBC, CTV, Bell and others. The SNN was doomed as a result.” Yeah, but they did give us Al Jazeera in its place! Real Canadian Content that is…….? Owned and funded by a Terrorist State!

Well done! Keep in mind there are a lot of people (like myself) that don’t do twitter or facebook, but none the less follow the Rebel closely.

Oh, look! Garry Wood has learned to spell “Glenn”! Good job, Garry! Maybe in 100 more days he will know the difference between YOU’RE and YOUR. One step at a time…one step at a time!

From the ashes of defeat, our voices for freedom arose. Ezra, I was totally lost when the sun went down, but thanks to your ability to reinvent yourself, and to continually inspire others to fight the good fight, we are fortunate to still have a voice of reason, a voice for democracy. And for that I thank TheRebels! I do miss seeing your face on TV, so I bought one of those Google casting devices, so now I can still cast you on to my TV.

Many thanks to Ezra and the rest of the Rebel team. Congrats, and good luck in the future!

For someone with many criticisms your sure spend a lot of time on this site….. if people want to voluntarily give funds to support something they believe in they should be able to do so. I personally do not have money that I can throw around but I have no problem throwing in a few bucks to support something that is going to give me an alternative to the narrative of the media party on basic cable. I can at least take ownership in supporting this site where as I honestly feel like I am being ripped off not only by the cable companies but also from my tax dollars that go to support media outlets that do not represent all views.

The Role of Canada’s Broadcasting Act
Canada’s Broadcasting Act declares that the Canadian broadcasting system should encourage the development of Canadian expression by:
•Providing a wide range of programming that reflects Canadian attitudes, opinions, ideas, values, and artistic creativity
•Displaying Canadian talent in entertainment programming
•Offering information and analysis concerning Canada and other countries from a Canadian point of view

SNN represented all of this yet for some reason was not worthy of the same benefits given to CTV, Global, CBC.

We will use this money as carefully and thoughtfully as we can,” he said Thursday, noting the Rebel has garnered some 20,000 backers who have registered with the site or otherwise indicated their support.

Canadians ARE LOOKING for an alternative to the Liberal/NDP crap we see every day.

Adam Christie, I think you should go to the Toronto Star website, you’ll fit in there. Its simply Liberal/NDP tripe.

I will never watch the CBC anymore. Especially now that the NHL won’t be there next year. I will not watch CTV and Global either. Not since they all got together and signed an agreement not to show “Attack Adds” using their news material. This was clearly meant to stop the Conservative adds showing Tru-doh with both feet in his mouth as usual (He says things like Quebecers are better than any other Canadians don’t you know?).

I for one would like to see a referendum on whether to sell or keep the CBC. If the public became educated as to the cost of running the CBC and the tax savings that selling off the CBC would bring … I think the CBC’s days would be numbered.

As Zee stated in an earlier posting, once the CBC is sold, we could lease the buildings and make constant money as a result.

Want to see how a Liberal Government will ruin Canada, take a look at Ontario. The Liberals lie to your face, and do so with a big smile on it. They don’t care about budgets. They say budgets will balance themselves !!!????

I found it strange that CBC News net and the CTV equivalent were propped up by auto cable/satellite subscription charges almost right from the get-go, and yet SNN was not afforded that. Why would anyone want to pay over and above their already bloated cable/satellite bills just to get the SNN? The CRTC should have treated the SNN the same as the CBC, CTV, Bell and others. The SNN was doomed as a result.

Keep up the good work REBELs. !!!!

andrew i thought ezra was rich why beg for money then?
commented 2015-05-29 00:30:47 -0400
I am not arguing whether or not they asked for money. My point was that many cable companies did not want to carry them, and when they did they had poor channel selection, and that many people had not heard of them until they were gone.

I happened to catch one of Ezra’s first episodes where he was interviewing a spokesperson from peta while eating chicken wings and was hooked from then on out. I used to watch Michael Coren on CTS and he definitely had more freedom on the SNN. SNN covered many story’s and was the showcase for many documentaries that you would not find anywhere else. Good Times, Looking forward to the future and the Rebellion.
