The Toronto Star actually thinks terrorist Omar Khadr should get the Order of Canada

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

This is not a joke.

The Toronto Star is actually suggesting that convicted terrorist Omar Khadr should get The Order of Canada.

MORE: Omar Khadr will now become "a propaganda tool to demoralize and demonize the West" -- with help from Canada's Media Party

We're not making this up! They actually made a video about this.

The Star doesn't mention Christopher Speer - the man Khadr killed.

Or Khadr's confession - a confession approved by his own lawyers!

MORE: What The Globe and Mail says about 'victim' Omar Khadr will leave you filled with rage

This is Canada's media party in a nutshell. Cheerleaders for a convicted terrorist and murderer.

They seek to normalize an anti-semitic Muslim Nazi.

@vladdi: interesting. So do the many readers who have expressed the view that ALL Muslims are inherently untrustworthy advise us to vote against the Conservatives generally for this clear act of treason, or just against the Conservatives in this specific riding?

The Toronto Star only serves its purpose when it is on the floor of the bird cage. To mention the Order of Canada and that guy in the same article is as shameful as when the Order was given to that pension fund parasite Conrad Black. Pay attention people there is an elect on the horizon and your elected officials will be scrapping the bottom of the barrel for more of these vote getters…….

This terrorist arse gets more “positive” press then they gave Mother Teresa, and all she ever wanted to do was ‘save lives’, ‘all lives’. Makes you wonder why many of us think North America has become the culture of death.

Omar Khadr was pretending to be an Afghani citizen, legally fighting for “his” country, when he committed his murder. And now he’s pretending to be a proud Canadian, who has a right to sue us, for interfering with his holy right to murder infidels!?

It will be interesting to see how many return their OoC as those angered by Morgentaler receiving one. To me, the Order of Canada has already been defiled and defamed. To receive one is now a dishonour.

On the Khadr file, there is more: I have sent a second email to Justice Minister Peter McKay with a strong recommendation for dealing with Khadr. Interested? email me.

I always knew Salutin was a leftie and mostly out-to-lunch on most issues, but did not know he was Jewish!
Can anyone tell me why some Jewish folks have a death wish against their own religion, communitie (Israel) and culture?

The world is full of crazy people and worse than that are the intelligent people who think they know it all and best of all have to speak out when the opportunity is offered to them. I have that opportunity here and I will speak my mind on the subject of giving the ‘Metal of Honor’ to someone who never did earn it in combat and Is not in any way deserving the honor.
Maybe if he would pledge allegiance to Canada and promise to never join any political party or run for any seat on any city, town, school board in Canada he might not be such a threat to our Canadian way of life. But He is just that. IMO
Given the proper support and money from Saudi Arabia or ISIS of some other Muslim faction we might even, to our dismay and regret. find him putting his name forward someday soon to become the Prime Minister of Canada,,, some day in the future. That is if there is still a Canada left for him to make a name for himself in. Why someone at the Toronto Star would make such a foolish suggestion is really beyond me.

The order of the boot is the only one I’d give him….right out of Canada!!!! It was because of stupidity like this that I cancelled the Star. I hate throwing up in my cornflakes and it was happening far too often!!!!!

But let’s recall that in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombing, Rolling Stone featured bomber Tsarnaev like a pop idol on its cover. Worse, a major US mag featured three women on the cover, each of whom had lost a leg to Tsarnaev, the idea being that, oh well, life goes on. Ain’t we grand! No one thought for a moment to blame the government that had irresponsibly tolerated the Tsarnaev clan. That would be blaming progressives, and progressives are never to blame. It is the same in Canada. We need to face up to the fact that many, if not most, of our fellow citizens do not have enough sense of their own well-being to stop reading the Toronto Star and to hold the government responsible for protecting public safety. Those of us who do not want to lose a leg to prove we are big-minded will need to work out our own defenses if rge Star’s candidates win.

Here we go again, another bleeding hearth liberal. Just to think that the day when Kadhr killed Christopher Speer should have been the day that Kadhr the rat should have been shot. That would have been dealt and done with. Perhaps a military will read this and oblige next time. And to think that we are paying for that slime to breath. Let’s not forget about his family that hates us and the US. All the liberal that thinks that Kadhr will become a great citizens have something coming. Actually when Kadhr sells us to al Qaeda, and he will, you will then see the “bleeding hearth” come out and whine as usual. I pray God every day that the Liberal don’t take over this country or we are in DEEP trouble.

Why not? They give it to anti-civilization recruiters like Margaret Atwood and David Suzuki – he’ll be in good company.

if it is pinned on his chest as a target? then go for it..

If a baby-murderer like Morgentaler can get an OoC, then it doesn’t matter if some senile* old commie from a Pinko rag like the Toronto Star put’s the unrepentant Islamic terrorist, murderer and traitor Khadr up for one, does it? My apologies, and sympathies, to those who were legitimate recipients…
*On second thought, strike “senile”, that idea stuck from reading an earlier comment or two, it’s not good form to use a person’s age-related infirmity to belittle them. In stead, I’ll just refer to it as the usual mental disorder – liberalism – calcified and embedded by age and chauvinism.
“A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within. The essential causes of Rome’s decline lay in her people, her morals, her class struggle, her failing trade, her bureaucratic despotism, her stifling taxes, her consuming wars.” Will Durant

It is cruel to keep putting him on here so he can make a fool of himself. Maybe his family doesn’t want to hurt his feelings by telling him he is being used as the fool.

I have seen Rick Salutin a few times. I think he has early signs of dementia. He makes no sense and is all always jumping from topic to topic. I feel sorry for him.

Ron Voss: no. Why do you ask?
commented 2015-04-30 11:18:27 -0400
TERRY RUDDEN from 18 hours ago: “Later in the video, Salutin says, ‘Yet even sticking strictly to Khadr, I’d say he deserves some kind of recognition’. So, what say you TERRY RUDDEN? Do you agree with Salutin that Khadr ‘deserves some kind of recognition’?”
commented 2015-04-30 09:28:26 -0400
Peter Netterville: not correct. The publisher (in any medium) is legally liable for what they choose to publish: that does not mean they endorse the content.
commented 2015-04-30 08:02:46 -0400
Terry Rudden, it is my understanding that when a new agency posts/prints/airs a columnist’s article/video then that columnist is representing that news agency unless that news agency also prints/airs a disclaimer along with it. So then yes, everything every columnist in that specific medium speaks for the owners of that medium unless otherwise indicated by the owners in the form of a disclaimer. At least that is how I understand it works.

@vlad Johnson: see comment below to Ron.

Ron Voss: My point is that Ezra stated “The Toronto Star actually thinks terrorist Omar Khadr should get the Order of Canada”, emphasized in the text with the phrase “We’re not making this up”.
Salutin said no such thing, and Salutin is not the Toronto Star (unless you believe that everything every columnist in every medium speaks for the owners of that medium.

Some of us are, simply put, masochistic. Praising individuals as Omar KHADR, they sell their own country for personal gain and in the name of ‘political correctness’, ignoring the fact that Omar and others like him would gladly behead their ‘benefactors’ if they could.

Can anybody imagine ‘Justin/Wynne time’ coming to Canada?
commented 2015-04-29 22:51:47 -0400
JAMES SMALL, Salutin signs off his video as follows, “For thestar.com, I’m Rick Salutin.”
commented 2015-04-29 22:45:53 -0400
Rick Salutin makes me ill. By the way…Jews I know won’t even put obituaries in The Star.
commented 2015-04-29 22:29:04 -0400
“The first time Rick Salutin aired on Sun News when he talked, he gave me the creeps. His ideas are frightening.” Same here Peter, he has some twisted ideas. Not even just a counter.
commented 2015-04-29 22:26:42 -0400
Sorry Ezra, you totally got this one wrong, even shown in the vid above. Look at the headline on this page and then listen to the first sentence out of Rick Salutin’s mouth. He specifically said that he did NOT think Khadr should get the order of Canada. Also, it wasn’t the Toronto Star who said that he should get the order of Canada, it was Rick Salutin who said he should NOT get the order of Canada.

I love the work you do Ezra, but when you misrepresent facts like that for sensationalism, you give the left more ammunition to attack you, and therefore US about “getting things wrong” and ’lying" about the facts.

Please reconsider your hyperbole on things like this. You are NOT helping the cause of freedom when we stoop to the level of the leftists.

Rick Plesnik, it sounds like you too fell on hard times as a result of Pierre Idiot Trudeau’s “benevolent” governance.

As an Albertan, I lost an excellent job that I would have kept if PET had not raped Alberta with his NEP program (and then fingered us as a thank you). Yes, a NATIONAL Energy Program that focused on only Alberta’s oil. And then after all the approximate $100 billion he took from us he still managed to get Canada in debt to $200 billion from $18 billion. That $182 billion in 1980 works out to approx. 650 billion today.

But I digress.
